To revive the old thread - my 2019 1500 38K miles dropped the right front brake pads on the pavement. My driver took the truck to AutoNation, which is nearby. I got a quote of $1700 for 2 calipers, front pads, front rotors, labor.
Final cost today was $899 for 1 caliper, front pads, front rotors, labor. Truck in 2/11/22. Truck out 3/16/22. Multiple calls from me and driver "waiting for the caliper" until 3/15/22 "truck is done." Invoice shows work was actually completed 3/4/2022.
Meanwhile, our 2018 Ram 1500 90K miles also lost a front caliper. Driver went to Brakes Plus same day in and out. $590 total for 1 caliper, front pads, front rotors, labor.
Brakes Plus, Thornton - Yay! 1 day
AutoNation Arapahoe- incompetent. 32 days
We used to service our brakes in house and saved money on the parts and labor, but helping each other with repairs is a hassle. I keep a spare Ram for events like this so no lost production, but when I couldn't afford a spare it would have hurt us a lot.
So ends my "Let's try the dealer" experiment.
