I guess I won't get a ticket for spinning the tires

After putting a few hundred miles on my new 2-door Express I found a safe place, came to a stop, turn off the traction control and mashed the gas to the floor. It was a little weaker off the line than I expected and didn't come close to spinning the 20" tires. It's not that big of a deal for me because I drive very gently but I was a little surprised that a 2-door pickup wouldn't even chirp the tires a little.

Welcome to what Ram calls "Torque Management System". Apparently your truck knows more about your needs than you do. At this point there is no way to change it short of replacing the torque converter (at least that is what I have been told)

Even if you replace the TC, the system will still be an oppressive overload killing power.

Remember, when you mash the throttle, you do nothing but activate a switch. There is no mechanical connection between the gas pedal and the throttle body. *********!*

I do miss my '12 Mustang GT at times like these...

Or, just turn the wheel slightly to add more resistance! Add a couple power mods, and wait for this years sema (Chyrsler's suppose to release tuning or something like that) and you should be there in no time.

I forgot about the LSD. My truck has it. Maybe it would have chirped one tire if it had the open diff, lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it has the LSD.

This is what an open differential will do for you lol

One tire fire

But I can say proudly that it was done with absolutely no brake stand, just mashed the throttle :D

Now I can't wait til I get my 3.92 LSD... that'll be some fun!

So really how bad is this? Ive never been the type to burn tire, even when i was young, but in comparison to say a Ford or Chevy/Gmc what does it say? So many People around me are such Ford and GM lovers and i can respect that, but it never fails and they bring it up. "Why dont you try peeling? It aint gonna happen!!". I used to have a Ford King Ranch CC and was happy with it, unfortunately dont remember if it would spin, but i feel (my opinion) that my Hemi 5.7 2WD has a much better response. This might be hacking this thread, sorry.

My GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 with the 6.0 gas burner had torque out the *****. It would pull a freight train I believe but they have the torque management stuff in the computer and it made it difficult to spin the tires over too.

With stability control, traction control and torque management you are just a small part of the equation haha. I will say with 4.56 gears and tuner peeling out is constant and newly unavoidable. I have to be careful not burn up my pricey tires.

I cannot wait till I get can 4.56 gears for my truck. It will so TOTALLY wake it up.
Not to mention I'll be able to stay in MDS more often, likely getting better MPGs
