I guess I won't get a ticket for spinning the tires

This is what an open differential will do for you lol

One tire fire

But I can say proudly that it was done with absolutely no brake stand, just mashed the throttle :D

Now I can't wait til I get my 3.92 LSD... that'll be some fun!

Nice 1 wheel peel!

I've done a few back in the day of my debauchery. Lol

Moments like this make me happy I have a 6-spd Challenger to fulfill the occasional need to light 'em up.

I've unitentionally broke the tires loose in my dads '11 with 3:55s and open diff
Its doable

To go with the gmc comment, my cousin had a silverado SS on his lot, it would not break loose for him when he took me for a ride

I traxdd in a silverado w/5.3 & 3.73's, and it would spin them from a dead stop, but not much. The funny thing was, even with tracton control on, if it was wet os slippery (sand) it would spin them harder in 2nd than 1st, and sometimes even in 3rd.

Didnt helped out the cooper had some mods and there was a riced eclipse in the turn lane next to me

Pretty ****** that they gave you a ticket for just chirping the tires... But still funny that it was in a Mini Cooper!

My truck is not an R/T. Just a fairly plain reg. cab Express with 3:55's and LSD. It's not a big deal that it won't spin the tires. This is the third hemi, previously a 300C and a Challenger. I know the 300 wouldn't spin the tires either. The Challenger was fast but I don't actually remember if it was a tire spinner. It was a lot faster than the 300C and the truck is totally slow compared to either of them.

Dale, what gears are in your R/T? I bet they're 3.55's or less. Probably the biggest reason you can't burn those tires.

R/T are only 4.10. Plus he doesn't have an R/T, he has the express

I think the R/T package includes 4.10's and the "loose" TC

Yupp

Silverado SS is AWD

Not all. Some are rwd. Same with the trailblazer ss

Haha well 390 hp and close to 5,000 lbs vs 375 hp and under 4300 pounds makes a big difference. But biggest issue is the limited slip, it's a lot easier to spin one tire than 2. Like my buddy has a express quad cab with 3.92 open and he can spin the tire easily and at autocross he had 17s on and was smoking it like crazy around every turn and I mean like he was sitting there doing a burnout. Whereas I have 3.55 lsd like you and mine hardly ever spin unless the road is slick or wet

My MSO (Manufacturer Statement of Origin) listed my truck at 4,657 lbs. I think the cars weighed 4,200. I kind of thought the front/rear weight bias would kind of equal out the greater weight and the tire spinning would be similar to the cars.

Tropical storm Issac came through my region yesterday and I did have a chance to experiment a little more on wet roads. It will spin the tires to a certain degree even with the traction control turned on. Of course it spun like crazy when TC was off.

This is why im waiting for 4.10 or 4.56 gears to come out to fit the front diffs. then ill be saving for them. cmon, you have to be able to light them up. i have the 3.55 with LSD. my buddy has a sport with 3.92 LSD. he sais he can burn them through 1st and 2nd with no brakes. i cant even "chirp" them

Well, I got a Laramie with the 3.92, and the only way I can spin them is using the brake...but if it's wet, get on it and they spin up REAL fast
