Finally had a moment to put some backup lights on the truck. Kept saying.....when its not blistering hot, and I have some time. The moons aligned today - 75 degrees out, I took advantage!
Anyway, these are the same LED pods that I have hooked up as DRLs on the truck. We stock them on the site here, if anyone is interested in a very cheap and easy hookup for backup lights (or any aux lighting for that matter) - Morimoto x.DRLs / Backup lights
Mounted them to the bottom of the bumper. Thought about between the tailgate and bumper......but - just didn't like the idea. There was also a spot behind the back wheels I thought about, but too much light would be lost from that. I wanted the MOST light output - and this will do that!
Connections were very simple. I pulled the 7 pin connector off, tapped the middle wire (WT/RD) for the positive (thats the reverse wire on the 7 pin) and then grounded on the BK/GY wire. Got the wires out of the way, all done. Took about......25 minutes start to finish.
Pics!
