So ive trying to find out the differences between the laramie and the sport and google has failed me today. clearly there is cosmetic differences but what about performance and other drive train parts? is there interior differences that we dont see such as noise insulation? Dont get me wrong i love my project but i just found a beautiful sport for sale and kind of want it. Its got half the miles of mine minimal damage to be repaired.

Just purchased a 2014 Ram Sport 4X4 with about every option except air suspension.

Love it, great ride comfort etc. What I did was Google (the year you are looking at) Ram Brochure and found all the data on options and differences between models.

Hopefully this will help. Bob

Rear heated seats on the Laramie. My sport has the heated and cooled leather moonroof and nav. And I think looks better without all the chrome. Also the Laramie has woodgrain trim inside which I didn't care for.

I dont believe the 2nd gens offered cooled seats during the 94-02 production years

You did my good sir. Most sports are just cosmetic like you said. Most have the same drive train etc.

Now, the off road package is different from both sport and laramie. Most of the time they "look" the same as laramies but they come from the factory with a leveling kit, and 4.10 gears. And maybe a/t tires but that could depend on the dealer as well.

If Im wrong someone feel free to chime in.

Bassslayer25 is right. Sport was strictly an appearance group. Had nothing to do with trans/engine combo, no extra power, axles are the same. There was the OPTION across all packages except for the OffRoad Edition to have 3.92 gears. OffRoad Edition had stiffer front springs giving 2" front lift over regular 1500s, 17" wheels, trussed axles, and 4.10s with a limited slip. Appearance depended on the package the OffRoad Edition was ordered with

I've got a sport, although it's not quite as noticeable anymore. Not that they're any better, but there's one benefit that makes a sport worthwhile.

The 99-01/02hd sports have the plastic front bumper, different grille, and everything is painted to match. The rear bumper is identical to a laramie, only instead of chrome it's body color. A lot of the sports have decals rather than emblems, although a few sports I've seen still have the door emblems like the laramies do. They also have clear cut quad headlights, separate high beams and low beams, lot better lighting, which is the added benefit of having one.

The 98's and older are identical to laramies only everything is painted body color rather than chrome, then sport decals placed at the back of bed.

To summarize: Sports are better than laramies. The color matched bumpers actually add 250 hp.

98 and older Sports are the ones with the door badges. 99+ it was all decal unless someone started swapping parts.
