I am thinking of a 4.56 swap once i get some $$ and can find a shop in my area
Anyone know a good shop near north Oklahoma??
Kind of torn on the 4.56 vs 4.88?
I am leveled on 35's and will never change it
I know there isn't much difference in the 2
But does anyone have lots of miles on these gears with this set up yet
Are you still glad you did the swap
How is the day to day and highway driving
I think it would be worth every penny getting that big hemi where it wants to be
I just don't want to be screaming down the highway every day
But not having to drop 2 gears to pass someone would be nice
Can anyone share their experience with these so far
My driving is 95% highway at roughly 70mph
I tow a trailer full of toys a few times a year rarely over 10
My truck is a 17 2500 CCLB leveled on 35's
3.73 ratio
Thanks
Just go 4.88s. On 35s you will never regret it or wonder if you should have gone with more gear.

With the 4.88 is your truck screaming in the 70-80mph range
I think for the city driving i do 88's would surely up the fun factor
But almost all of my driving is highway
Thank you for replying
I've read all posts i could find on this forum and it's an expensive upgrade
I am hoping to keep my truck for a long time
I just don't want to get to much gear and have the engine screaming like crazy going down the highway
And i have no plans on bigger than 35 tire
Thanks again
No.
Its perfect RPM range for a hemi. Actually at 70 i wish i had a little more RPM.
35’s in 6th @70 is like 2000 or a hair more. 80 mph its a hair under 2500rpm.
I wish i went 5.13’s
The hemi is happy running at 2300-2500 all day for a cruising rpm. I like it closer to 2500

This with the 4.88 ?
Excellent info thank you
Exactly what i was hoping to get
I have read several threads including the most recent all 300 posts lol
And seem to get lost in them on what everyone set up is
Sounds like i might try to find some 4.88
Thanks again
Yes 4.88’s
I used nitro gears. Great people to talk to good customer service and a respectable warranty. They can set you up with the closest installer.
Thats what i did.
The first person I talk to on the phone could answer all my technical questions. It was nice not getting the runaround and transferred from one person to another.
Nitro gears caters to jeep and Toyota. They are starting to branch out to the big trucks but they have had a great reputation in the Toyota and jeep community.

I have the mag hytec covers on the front and rear diffs. And I agree easy to change with the drain plug and the magnets that catch the metal shavings are the main reasons I installed them. The biggest added benefit to diff covers from when I was looking to do this on my 2500 was the damn drain plug lol.
Update:Oh, mine are already bought. That $$$ flying out was in the past. Now just trying to figure out if I like TN or VA better. I'm thinkin' TN. I do not belong here.
Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!
