Let us know how the install goes and give us your opinion on the performance. If upgrading I agree going with 4.88's would be the best choice. 4.88's is the route I'm going to go if I decide to keep the truck for the long haul down the road.

But my next set of tires I'm doing 37's on the 4.10's. I dont give a **** lol. The truck moves the 35" KO2's I have on there now like they aren't even there, especially with the Pedal Commander. I will prob pick up a lighter 37 though. The Toyo's are heavy as a ****.

I've committed to going to37s with my 4.10s when these these 33s are shot too. If I'm gonna lift it, might as well put on tires you can see a difference in. Only got 6k miles on 'em now but I'm doing my best to get 'em used up quick. That's part of the problem. 37s will slowww me down and look better. 2 good things.

Yeah, I am debating on doing Thuren 3" up front and a spacer in the rear, or just do a Zone or BDS 4". I dont know. There's a really good shop around here who will do the Zone or BDS for a great price. And with anything over 2.5 inches I really think these trucks need 37's. I have 35's (measuring at 34") on stock suspension right now and they look just right. Of course tire size is subjective, but I like to see more of a full wheel well.

My 33s measure 33.7". You have short 35s and I have tall 33s. Wheel wells look way too big stock. I had 36x15x15s **** Cepeks on my K5 Blazer way back when. Different look doe to 15" wheels. Lots of bouncing rubber showing. Kinda like the old school look so might go down in rim diameter to 17 but up to 37 tire min.

I'm on the fence between a 3" and 4" also. Ill probably settle with the thuren bc I don't want anything bigger than 35s but those 4" lifts really look bad ass

Ya I'm running the nito ridge grapplers. Wanted the BFG but they don't make 37's. I'm really leaning towards the 4.56. After all the formulas I ran a 4.11 would get me back to stock and I'm going up the 4.56.

This site has lots of useful info including, actual tire hights and widths vs what they are advertised as, effective gear ratio calculators after changing tire sizes. Speed calculations after changing tires,

Lots if great info here.

BFG does make 37x12.50 in the KO2 and KM2 MT. Check out their size chart. Downloadable on their website.

I'm guessing mine are a bit shorter too because I don't run them with much air. I don't load the truck up often. I think the BFG's are always a bit smaller than advertised. Mounted on a rim at 60-65 PSI but not on the truck I’d bet they are just about 35”. I measured them before they got wheel mounted and they were a little over 34.5 inches.
They are light though. Even in 37. The KO2 in 37 is only a few pounds heavier than in 35. And the KM2 is really light for an MT.

All of the non XL builds from AEV run BFG's in 37x12.50.

Ok thanks my boy is a manager at discount tire here in Michigan and when I bought my truck they didn't make them then from my understating. Will be getting them after these tires absolutely loved them before.

Your choice for brands for the 4.88 front is Yukon as far as I know, & the lowest.

Totally different animal, but my ‘99 1500 had 37”s, started with 4:10’s then I put in 4.88’s, it was like a totally different truck afterwards.

Very peppy around town, and on the highway it never downshift at any sort of incline....atleast not around Chicagoland or when I took it to the cottage in Michigan.

My in laws lived (deceased) there, but wife & siblings still own it.

I’m looking for some acres to buy in the next couple of years to move/retire there.

That way I will no longer be a FIB.

4.11 to 4.56 really isn't much of a change. Axle ratio is absolutely the cheapest bang for the buck. Torque multiplier without all the headaches and expense of trying to increase h.p. You OWE YOURSELF a set of 4.88s. Anybody know if 5.13s will fit?

I run 4.88's with mine on 35's and it's awesome! Although if I were to spend the money again I'd go 5.13. Mine are nitro gears as my truck was the Guinea Pig for them as the gas trucks use different pinion bearings unless u have the snowplow prep package and then it uses the same as the diesel trucks.

Interesting little thread. I have a 6.4 dually, stock size tires, 3.73. Don't plan on lifting or taller tires, needed for towing a 3 horse LQ. I don't do over 80 mph interstate. Was seriously considering 4.56s, but the 4.88s sound like a nice fun factor! Would like to hear more about these 4.88s you speak of. Be cool to spin duallys on dry pavement, you know, because I could.

considering what you have tire wise I'd absolutely go with 4.88's I put 4.44's in mine and really like them but could use more gear than that on stock tire size
