It’s starting to happen with 6.4 hemi’s too. This is not isolated to certain years IMO

Agreed, I think this is a design issue, and it’s a roll of the dice on if or when you get it. Does good oil help the issue, I believe so, but at what cost?

Could be, I suppose. There are still so many of these engines out there, it might not represent a big enough % for FCA to care.

The only thing that gets me is that they provide no financial assistance to owners fixing this out of pocket. The design of the Hemi makes this a VERY expensive fix.

And I still think a lot of it has to do with lack of flow at low RPMs, so engines with a lot of idle time will be the most susceptible. I use remote start but I only let the truck run for a few minutes before I get in.

I wonder what the best alternative would be while using dealer installed oil....would Biogard+PYB/PP/PUP protect the engine almost as good as running RedLine?

Side question, does the 1500 with the lsd need 75w90 or 75W-140? I have read both on here and also I had my physical manual say 75w90 but the one online say 75w140 and another one online also says 75w90.

I ended up just using redline 75w90 but am curious.

Well if they dont offer the lifetime warranty anymore than my next truck will more than likely not be a ram. Because that's one of the big reasons I bought ram. I will keep this one till the warranty runs out or Ram denies it and just lease after that.

Good question. My owners manual calls for 75w140 and I don't have the lsd. But I've also seen it call for 75w90 in other places. I went with 75w140...

Unfortunately, I may be in the same boat. I love my truck and I hope nothing goes wrong.

This is really making me consider a performance cam and Hellcat lifters. Alleviate the whole lifter issue and gain some HP.

You never hear anything about SRT motors having these issues.......[emoji848]

I think the key might be the lifters. Plus they don't have any MDS lifters (which is why we would need a tune to use their stuff)

I don’t even know where to start for pets for this. I guess my re-Gear is on hold now. I’m going to cam two Hemi’s......****

Well then. What are the BIG differences in our cam VS an SRT cam...? Besides the obvious difference being the shape of the lobes... is it a different steel....?

I don't think it's so much the cam is better as it is the lifters are better...

Just do a srt engine swap. Maybe a demon motor.

LoL if I had that cash, I’d do the re-Gear at the same time. But Houses are ******* expensive
