When I replaced the tires on our Wrangler a couple of years ago, the Perfection Tire Dealer recommended them as well. I will certainly look at them the next time I need tires for the truck or the Wangler.

Took them off-road for the first time this weekend. Very impressed with grip, and did great!

Timely thread, as I'm in the market for new sneakers on my 2016 1500. I live in central MA and we get a fair amount of snow. Can anyone speak to their performance in snow? Thanks so much. I've been searching for a tire that performs well in snow, but doesn't sacrifice ride quality too much during the rest of the year.

FYI...the truck has 45k miles and is still on factory SLAs. I love the smooth ride of the truck on the current tires, but I've only had the truck 6 months and driven mostly on dry roads. From everything I've read most folks don't like these tires, so that makes me hesitate to replace them with the same.

I'm in the same boat! I'm going to need to replace my tires before winter and I've been leaning towards these tires as my replacement. We get quite a bit of snow in the winter and was curious about how these perform in the snow. I've only had my truck since May, so this will be my first winter. I'm coming from a Volkswagen Tiguan with 4 motion and CONTINENTAL WINTERCONTACT, so needless to say, it was awesome in the snow!

May need to consider Nitto tires for my 2500 CTD, although my situation is different from many here. I often tow a camper/TT that weighs just over four tons (the loaded truck weighs almost as much), so my needs are mostly for on-road use. The OEM Firestone Transforce AT's have been OK, but at 25,000 miles, they are nearing end of life (5/32" of tread). Looking at Michelin LTX Defender or AT, Cooper (and maybe more Firestones although I believe I could do better), but will now check to see if Nitto has anything decent.

I put Duratracs on from day truck left lot brand new. I'm at 26000 kms, tires still look brand new, with all the little rubber nubs still on. Here in Manitoba we get a ton of snow, and this past winter I went through a lot of deep snow while ice fishing, and I had no issues. Love them. I will say on wet pavement though they broke free a couple times. No highway noise either.

I went from the stock Crapyears to the Falken AT3W and have no complaints.

Ride is about the same, a little more road noise (as expected, not mud boger loud in any way) and a small drop in MPG.

But...and this is a big but.

They are 100x's better in the rain and snow!!!

Been watching all the good remarks about the Falken AT3Ws. On the fence of either Falken or Nitto Grapplers when finally shedding the OEMs...which I am dying to do!

Falken makes okay tires for the money... But I have to say that I used them off road for the first time this weekend, and was very impressed. The other thing that sets these apart from some of the more inexpensive tires I've tried are road noise and ride quality. Virtually zero noise, and great ride quality. I'd recommend them, for sure. And yes, I've tried nearly all of them out there, including the high-end stuff.

Just do not think they hold up in the long-run the way other tires do. Good friend manages a tire shop, and he has steered me away from them several times. Are they bad tires? No, but when the difference between okay and great is $30-50 a tire, I'll go with great.
