I know there is a chart with outside temp and humidity to what temp the unit will condition the air to. I can’t find one for the new Freon. I don’t know if it’s much different than the R134.

I was going to say, thank the tree huggers and this new supposed/eco friendly Freon for your sluggish cooling.

Wow, luckily for me I have none of those issues...I can't confirm carplay because I don't use it, but everything else is fine. Hope your dealers and/or FCA works with everyone to resolve the issues.

I heard years ago that the new r1234 wasn't as good at cooling as 134a. But, the same thing was said about 134a when it replaced r12. Most of my A/C vehicles had 134a & they worked just fine as long as there was the proper amount of refrigerant in it & nothing was clogged/failed. My Ram is the first vehicle I've owned with the r1234 & it does a surprisingly good job of knocking the sweat off of me. :rotflmao: If I was in Kfield's situation, I might think about checking with another dealer.

I have and the next was more clueless than the first. It is sad when you know more about the mechanics of vehicles in the technicians do. Just basic troubleshooting is clueless to them. It gets old walking them through the steps of troubleshooting something and getting them to understand. Mechanical issues do not show up on a computer unless there’s a sensor involved. It seems if it doesn’t show up on their skin tools then everything is normal.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm going down to the dealership to custom order a Rebel but reading these posts are giving me second thoughts. I come from a long line of Fords with no issues but those are never the people on the forums, it's all the horror stories that get talked about. Probably tens of thousands of trouble free 2019 Rams out there but I'm scared of that 12 inch screen now.

Good....I actually thought I was going to get comments about rubbing my trouble-free truck in some people's faces. That wasn't my intention.
This is my 2nd RAM and I never had the notorious RAM issues from my first new one in 2012 and continuing today. I think it's what you said...Out of the approximately four to five hundred thousand RAMs sold each year, a certain percentage will have some issues (like any other car, truck or manufactured product). Those are the one's you'll hear from the most . The key is you hope the dealer or factory will resolve it.

Has this been solved?? My truck is doing the exact same thing!!

Has not been solved. I wasn’t able to replicate it on the drive home during same windy conditions. I’ll bring it up with the dealer next time I’m there. Good luck and let me know if you find a fix before I do.

This is so frustrating. The dealer and FCA think I’m making it up. I’ve found several other YouTube clips of the same sound now. This is class action worthy.

I know what this is but don't know how to fix it. If my speed and the wind is a total of 100 miles an hour or more it is air coming through the sunroof. I can press the sunroof to make the sound change. No leaks and only when the combo is 100 miles an hour or more.

Well that doesn’t sound very fixable to me without changing the whole sunroof unit to a redesigned one. That can’t be good.

My steering wheel mounted control for track skip only works occasionally when I'm using Android Auto. Seems to work fine otherwise. Has anyone else seen this issue?

I don’t have a sun roof and I get that sound. Found a video on YouTube from someone else showing the exact same sound. Visiting the dealer next week.

Ram is at the dealer now for an overnight visit. Trying to figure out this noise. I’ll post resolution once complete.

Oh and this noise too! Happens intermittently when shutting off the ignition.

I get this same exact "howling" noise at highway speeds in my 2019 limited 1500. They say turn off the recirculation mode of the AC. I haven't tried that yet to confirm it works.

I have a 2019 1500 5th gen Limited. Loads of issues. My AC puts out 55 degrees on the driver side and 43 degrees on the passenger side. Two dealers checked it and said it was normal. One mechanic told me to point the passenger vents toward me as a remedy. Called Ram today and filed a complaint. I told her fat people don't like to be hot. This is a deal breaker for me. I am seriously thinking about taking a trip to Carmax. It's a shame because there some really nice things about this truck. I just wish they would get serious about quality control.
There’s a non-invasive hack out there for this which I found on another forum. The folks on that forum have determined the AC performance is not super great because there’s too much coolant flow through the heater core when using the AC, so the AC is trying, but it is being hindered by the warm heater core.

The hack is to restrict the flow through the heater core by one means or another.

Heres the (very long) thread if you’d like to peruse. I wasn’t too keen on installing the valve the OP used, so I opted for these $8 fluid line clamps from Harbor Freight. Takes two seconds to install and makes an immediate difference in the temps. Just remember to remove the clamp in the fall or you’re going to have a cold winter! :D

Edit: the didn’t realize the url is starred out.. 5thgenrams(dot)com is the domain.

I ended up getting my truck back on Monday. Total of 41 days after I dropped it off. The screen now works but it doesn’t appear to save some settings. I have customized the app drawer twice only to have it reset as well as the XM presets.

Mine did this same thing for a while then one day it all stuck. So, I think there may be a period of time for the settings to "stick."

So what's the fix for this issue. I've seen several posts complaining, but didn't find anyone explaining the solution. Does it only happen with the air suspension?

The fix for this issue on m 2019 Limited was to tighten the sway bar.
