I have a 2016 Eco. I installed the Rough Country 4" suspension kit a couple years ago. So far so good. No issues.

However, I have very little uptravel in my suspension.

In fact my control arms angle upwards. This leads to horrible ground clearance and some harsh "hits" when hitting bumps in the road or humps.

Does anyone have a photo of their Eco with a 4" suspension and the control arm angle?

I'm wanting more uptravel in my suspension.

Also I feel I probably need to replace my strut/coilovers assembly up front due to wear and tear and time. Been almost three years of hunting/off road use.

Will running Bilstein 5100 help with leveling my control arms for more uptravel?

What are my options on going more clearance in front? Is this just a spring sag issue?ab1e17e4b3c106576035bad259b5d242.jpgf1f2439909722adf4de52b3554dc0476.jpg

Did you ever get the hub to fender measurements. It looks like your tires are wearing on the inside noticeably as well.

I forget how they looked stock but I recall the stock ride height has the front axle shafts at an upward angle like your pics....might be normal?

Those angles seem normal for a 4” lift. Most if not all lifts use the same parts for 4” or 6” except for the front upper strut spacer.

If you add 5100’s set at 1.4” or so it should level it out.

here’s a zone with similar angles

I don't run a drop bracket setup, so I may be wrong but his struts look like full length extended and not the stock with a spacer. Originally that would have been my suggestion but it looks different from an OEM strut so I shut up. I'm strictly goin off what I've seen posted here previously.

He originally posted in another forum and I redirected him here since there's a bunch of y'all running drop brackets with different combo coilovers. When I noticed a full length looking strut I wasn't sure what options were available.

I cant see the strut upper mount area but your right those aren't OEM struts. That said 5100's wont help him unless he has his OEM lower coil mount off the OEM struts.

Looking at the tire wear on the inside he definitely needs an alignment.

Def looks like the strut could be the issue. He could get the adjustable bilstein kit that comes with their springs couldn’t he?

Those struts could be Rough Country N2.0 struts that provide 2.5" of lift (note the red bottom spring pearch). If that is the case, and the OP has said struts but no strut spacers from the 4" kit, his lift may be less than the 4" desired height, the upper and lower control arm angles would probably not be parallel with each other and at a weird angle, and he'd have a bad alignment.

Yes this thing has been aligned numerous times and I still get the cupping on the inside of the tires. Killing me.
The struts are the RC N2.0 that came with the kit.

@Nick@GotExhaust might have some suggestions for products that would fit a 4"

Try and grab some fender measurements if you can just for the baseline. Without seeing your truck personally I'd be willing to bet you just killed the struts, since you actually use the truck. Not the end of the world, and if you have the budget there's a ton of upgrades. Crazy to see the cv having wonky angles opposite of what we're used to.

I can only imagine how bad that you bottom out regularly.

Since I have no interest in these drop bracket lifts I'm not as well versed on their parts, but something is surely not right. I'm still really curious if they had a diesel option. On alot of the box brand lifts, they say not for diesel application, and I've come across a few random installs despite these warnings. All the results seem to yield much less lift, 1-1.5 less after some use. I know RC has in house 4 and 6" struts so maybe these were those.

Since it seems most spec the same cross members for the 4 and 6" applications I'm sure any loss in lift would add to negative cv angle like we see here at lower heights. I know flat cv angle is ideal, but this just looks weird. But again I don't run these kits.

Id be all over RC either way. Worst case scenario is he can grab some application specific Rough Country struts made for the lift height, and possibly even have them covered by a warranty. Otherwise I'd be looking at fox coilovers.

I would highly suggest you check the alignment yourself.
I've got a 4" RC lift on my 1500 as well. My front tires were wearing very similarly to yours, but I also had a vibration issue. I had it in the shop more times than I care to admit. Every time they would say, "it's all within spec, nothing wrong." When I finally decided to check the alignment myself, I found that "within spec" meant 1/2" of toe out. Aligned it myself, and the vibration and tire wear are gone.
Also, my control arm and axle shaft angles look just like yours. As someone mentioned, they use the same drop brackets for the 4" and 6" kits, and just include different strut spacers.

Your end links are to long, Your sway bar should be level to the ground.

Interesting. Yet there's no drop down to select gas or diesel. Still I've heard these n3 shocks are a large improvement over the old stuff rough country offered.

As we know the springs are different for us in the front. Hmmmm. Interesting

I agree with you 100%, I guess they assume if it'll bolt up it fits the ECO

Duhhhh.

As said, I know nothing of the specs for the drop bracket lifts at all, so without more searching I'm use less for alternative options. Aside from the ones we posted.

Thanks to all! I work out at sea so I'll be home in a few days and get measurements. The alignment shop always says it's within spec but I still get wear.
Those RC N3 struts look nice. Maybe I'll contact RC and see if they fit my application.
