No not the seatbelt alone but a cumulative effect of small details etc.
I’ve had both and they have their flaws etc. but fords been doing things like panoramic moonroofs, bigger flatter back seats/floors, factory power steps, better headlamps on premium models, just a bunch of those little things.
And it’s not that Ram doesn’t follow suit and eventually make things better (but come on, I mean how long did it take Ram to put some Fn headlights on a truck that are worth a damn?). It took until the 5th gen to get rid of our dangerously dim incandescent lamps...even on the highest of trim levels.
Well yeah, I will agree that Ford seems like they’ve always had a lot more amenities offered further back in the day than ram has but that only matters to somebody who actually needs that extra stuff.
But it’s funny how you chose the headlights as the primary point that Ram fell short enough on that you had to go into greater detail towards.
Who cares if ram didn’t put the best of lightbulbs in their headlights? Just because they chose cheap bulbs, why blame RAM for that when there’s plenty of stuff in the aftermarket that allows us to buy specifically whatever it is we as individuals want?
You know, I’ve read a lot of comments where everybody ******* about even the premium projector headlights on the upper models of the fourth GEN ram pick ups. Yeah, I know, for such a great headlight design in my opinion, they could’ve put some better bulbs in there but see, when they do that, that’s what drives the cost of the truck to go up and probably the reason why ford’s upper models are a whole lot more expensive is because of that.
Why do you think a brand new 2019 or 2020 ram 1500 Limited costs so much more more than even what my 2018 ram 1500 limited cost? Yeah, I paid a pretty penny for my truck primarily because for one, it had to be brought down from another dealer and two, it was a 2018 model and it wasn’t even 2018 yet when I bought it. But even with the lifetime warranty I bought with it, it still was less than $60,000. nowadays, how much is a brand new 2019 or 2020 Limited gonna cost you that has a lot more of that stuff that you speak of on it, like the auto deploying side steps, the split tailgate, the
better headlights, the 12 inch screen and whatever else? I guarantee you, you won’t get one for cheaper than what I paid for the one I’ve got, if you buy it new off the lot unless you just get the sweetest deal possible.
But back on the subject of the the headlights; mine weren’t the greatest, but they did their job better than any other stock setup and I could see just fine at night. And I’m one of the pickiest people you’ll ever see when it comes to quality headlights and quality wiper blades but still, I wasn’t crazy about the headlights that they stuck in there so not even three weeks or so into owning my brand new pickup, I went down to the auto parts store and I bought me some much better lightbulbs to go in there that worked excellent at that point, really without even needing to upgrade to LED highs and fogs and HID lows. I only did that because I wanted to and they are in fact better but still, it wasn’t out of necessity.
I think Ford just stays a little on the forefront of the nicer options which is why there’s a little more of a premium for them. Oh and they comparatively have much more capable payload and tow ratings which is nice for the majority of truck owners in the half ton segment.
Well, good for them. And again, who cares about that much more payload and towing capacity? Even if I had something that I pulled regularly that was well within the 11,000-pound capacity of my half-ton, I wouldn’t be doing it with a half-ton anyways. I woulda bought a 3/4-ton that would’ve been a much more desirable tow-rig for something that heavy so again, **** on Phord for thinking they’re all that and a sack of tater chips for letting people think it’s safe to pull a 13,000 pound trailer behind a half-ton.
And Phord as you call them looks to have one upped everybody again with the soon to be released 2021 F-150 so it’ll be back to chasing them. But I’m okay with that because I keep my trucks for a while and my 17 Ram isnt going anywhere. But I can still have the ability to look at other trucks and acknowledge they can be nicer unlike you lol.
If it’s not already obvious, I’m not a fan of Phord. Never have been and certainly aren’t now. I think building them out of aluminum is stupid, and some of the things you think are “better”, I think are completely unnecessary but that’s just me. If you think they’re nicer, good for you but don’t in a sense belittle me because I’m unimpressed. If I liked Phord, or was impressed by them, I’d probably be driving one.
