I’d buy the same ram ball bits for 1/2 the price and do it yourself. Clever concept however.

You could but for the base that directly bolts on to your dash and no headaches it's really not a bad price. The time to make and buy all the components I think you would be the same price.

There is also these guys...
I have the single mount in my truck with suction cup wireless "no touch" phone mount
This set up works great. The Bayou mount is 2+ years old, the phone mount is newer as the the previous one died. This one is nice as it is a much stronger clamping system and has a capacitor in it to maintain power even after power down of truck. Been very pleased with it.

A friend of mine told me about this one that's adaptable in a lot of different vehicles. It fits directly in front of me on top of the instrument cluster and doesn't block my view of the road at all. I like it because you don't have to turn your head to look at it.

See it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TZSC1P3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

If you're a short person, or sit low in your seat, you may not like it because it could obstruct your frontal vision. Price was reasonable and am glad I bought it. No holes to drill, no glue either. Plus, I like the little tray above the center screen for my sunglasses.

One note to posting Don’t put your phone where it’s in the sun. Your phone will overheat. I speak from experience. Don’t leave your phone for long periods of time in even tinted windows. Who wants to replace a $800+ phone?

Any issue with the phone sliding out on corners and such? I can picture me driving down the highway with the windows down, getting off an exit, and the phone sliding across my dashboard and out the window!

Has anyone tried one of these bullet point ram phone mount? They utilize the ram ball and socket mount. Neat idea and considering something like this for our long trips.

I have been using the ProClip cell phone holder for the past ten years or so and have been extremely pleased with it!

Same here. ProClip all the way around for all the vehicles. A lot cleaner IMWO.

And No, it doesn't extrude view or air vent. Yes: I use Waze on the phone instead of through UConnect which is basically too far of a reach optically.

Images from a PW but I had the exact same setup on a Rebel and it would be the same for a TRX.

View slightly to the side to show air vent being clear.

Nice, but won't work on an HD with gearshift. That's where the BulletPoint is a perfect solution

The Bulletpoint is super cool and nice, especially with the graphite arms. Bulletpoint and RAM Mounts are two separate companies and I don't know if their components are compatable. However, I already had an accptable phone charger (wireless) mount cradle and a RAM Mount B 1" size double socket mount https://www.rammount.com/ from a different application. So I ghetto-fab-eyeballed a piece aluminum laying around in my garage with a bench vise, hacksaw, battery drill, couple screws and nuts from the parts bin and 2 beers. Works a treat for my application with the RAM diamond ball base from Amazon about $10. This is in a 2022 1500 Classic Crew Cab 4x4 V8 with the 5.something Sirus XM touchscreen. WAYZ navigation can be a battery hog so the phone has to charge which the aftermarket cradle mount does well. Head up at at glance easy view, and clear from the A/C vent and adjustable.

I have the ProClip with the magnet and its a nice, low profile solution. You can also reverse this same mount to use on the opposite, pax side mount. They make a mount specifically for that side but it is angled toward the driver so not suitable for pax use. I have both sides installed and they work great.

no but bought one of these for my wifes Subaru. Works great. About $80 for both pieces

I just ordered one of these, thanks for sharing. I've been looking for something like this for what seems like forever!

LOL, no not yet. It's sticky on the bottom and stays put just fine. The rubber lips that hold the phone keep it secure pretty well too. I don't hot-rod the truck too much, or take corners very much over the recommended speeds; so I may not be a good field tester. It's not moved from where I originally placed it over a year ago.

i‘ve never heard of the mount your taking about but I use the ProClip mounts. For my phone it mounts between the radio bezel and the dash, doesn‘t sit to high or to low and holds the phone securely. ProClip also make a mount like the bullet and mounts in that tray above the radio. Don’t know if they have a dual mount, I have the single for my remote head to my ham radio.
I’ve used ProClip mounts since the mid 90’s and most of my family uses them also, highly recommended.

For your Ram? Take pics. I have the full console with the 7" or whatever touch screen with nav. I do usually use the GPS on my phone and pull it up on my touch screen cause I like the phone GPS better so don't need my phone up in my line of sight but my wife likes hers in her Subaru so much I might consider it. The full console in my truck has a spot for 2 phones so not sure I should spend the $80 on it.
But the story about my wifes was funny. She doesn't like spending on higher end stuff (except her car that has leather, etc...lol) but she always bought the $7 phone holders then complained when they wouldn't stay on. I surprised her with the ProClip and she complained that I spent so much but after she used it she loved it

The ProClip also rotates so you can put your phone sideways too

Good old-fashioned garage engineering! I love it! Looks good too.

Maybe yours is different, but my experience with these types of holders is that unless you have a fairly wide phone, they only stay in place in landscape mode.

Yeah for my 2013. My uconnect doesn't have Nav and I'm not paying $500 to enable it plus updated maps when google is free. I'll try to remember to upload some pics when it gets here.

So I recently purchased the Bulletpoint system for my 2016 Ram 2500. But when I went to install it I noticed the screw on the drivers side was loose. After further investigation the little metal clip that the screw goes through from factory was stripped out (by the previous owner as I purchased the truck used). I’ve been googling for over an hour and can’t seem to find any part number for this clip. I came across this thread and had to go through the process of getting a new password cause I haven’t logged in here in a long time.

Does anyone have a part number for the clip that the screw goes through from factory? Or maybe a listing to a universal piece I can replace it with? Thank you in advance.

1 - Look at my picture, the phone is not in the line of site
2 - Why ask that question if you are satisfied with your way?
I don't think he was "questioning" why. I think he was mor like "Hmm, my way has worked for years, but MAYBE i'm missing something that these guys figured out" At least that's my thought. I like the thought of these mounts, but am wondering my NEED. Enjoy all! Have a great day!
