Material it’s made of and age. Sucks. I ended up taking the tank down and “plastic welding” the crack and epoxy IG the fuel pump module. Hooked it up to a smog machine and it didn’t leak. So far so good.

I’m tired of trying to find a replacement tank and module. Tank is cracked on top and the module has cracks on top as well. Just dried out. Truck runs ******* but won’t pass Ca smog because of the cracks.
Anyone done a custom tank in a Shortbed 88-89 D-150?

That’s awesome! Congratulations! We just picked up an 89 D150 that is an ex-fire truck as well for our 16 year old son.
Had a LOT of random wiring from lights/sirens/radio that we had to get rid of. Ours is a 2WD so we decided to drop it a bit.
