    Catch can for the Hemi

Good To know about the spark knock. Hadn't really heard about that.

    Catch can for the Hemi

A catch can does exactly what the name implies...it helps to keep some of the nasties from going back into the engine. This will likely have some long term benefits, but only generally. They don't add horsepower, improve fuel mileage, etc. the beauty of posting to a forum is that anybody can say...

Are bedcovers economical for fuel consumption or it costs more fuel because of its we

I am always amazed about all the gizmos and gadgets people say dramatically improve their mileage. If all these things worked, the car makers would be putting them on at the factory. Why spend millions and millions on R & D when a $50 gadget will improve your mileage by 30%... Don't forget the...

    Im a little overwieght

Not a simple question. There are a number of reasons why you should always stay under the max, whether you are towing, hauling, or carrying in the bed. 1. The maximum weight is what the truck has been designed to accommodate safely, or at least within the design parameters of the truck. This...

    difference in mileage

If your looking at fuel mileage only, go with 3.21s. Looking at pure math and science, 3.21s will almost always result in better gas mileage as the engine will be spinning at lower RPM's. The only caveat is this... if you are running at a speed that means the tranny needs to drop down a gear or...

Recommended vs. Acceptable Octane in Gen 4 5.7

Haven't seen much 89 around here, Calgary. Unless you have a tuner or forced induction, you won't see any difference between 87, 89, or 91. Some of the higher octane fuels also throw in their own secret cleaners and other gimmicks. i'll save the 5 bucks and by a couple coffees on the way to work.

    Will never buy Diablo again

While I can't comment on the quality of the product, gotta agree that what they did was reasonable. The flip side would be for them to say that once the tuner is used, it's locked period. No reselling or retuning. Instead, they say we will unlock it, but for a price. As a "person in the...

Service manager just lectured me on oil change

My stealership started calling about three months in. When I pointed out the "recommended" oil change frequency in there manual, he said he wouldn't recommend following it. That's funny. I know if I were to ignore the manual then try for a warranty claim, they'd tell me to stuff it. With both...

2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab and Commuting

I'd say get the newest truck you can. even a couple model years can see significant fuel mileage changes. If you're willing to keep the pedal light and stay around 58 to 60 mph on the highway, you can see 20 mpg. I get a combined 17 to 19 with my 2014 5.7. I only need a truck 2 weeks out of the...

    tonneau cover in the winter

Agree with the silicone or dielectric grease. I use the silicone spray on the door seals before car washes in the winter. Stops the trim from freezing to the door jam.

    Rear power window

Has anybody tried to replace the one piece rear window with the power window? I've found one pretty cheap and want to know if it can be jnstalled in a 2014 ram 1500 crew cab.

    Flip down rear seats done!

Gotta agree with caution here. If you ever sell the truck and don't change this back, pray the new owner doesn't get in an accident. Insurance companies look for little things to deny your claim. And modifying the anchor points on a seat would leave you high and dry. Up here in Canada, you...

$8K Audio install on 2012 Laramie CC (video)

I would always rather have too much power than not enough. That why I bought a 5.7 Hemi when I only rarely tow a 3500 lbs trailer. You can do a lot of damage to your speakers trying to drive them with too little power. Besides the watt ratings on speakers and amps are often inaccurate. I love...

Safe to use netural with 4th gen 8 speed?

Having tested this out for over a week now, theres some big limitation to the fuel cut-off while coasting. First, it is definitely speed sensative, I was stuck in traffic this morning and rolled downhill for well over a KM at about 30 to 40 KPH. The engine was running the entire time. The...

Sprint iPhone 6 and Alpine 8.4 AN

I think it's a combination of both. My iPhone 5 still isn't working 100 percent since the upgrade to iOS 8.
