So now the water pump is sealed right, but its leaking behind the timing cover a good bit? Any clue on cost to repair? Im going to ha e to send it to a shop since my work schedule is chaotic and dont have the time to or tools to do it.
Just checked and yeah its leaking while its running, its almost like theres not enough pressure to keep it against the timing cover. Ut its only leaking from that bottom side. Nowhere else that ive seen.
Isnt the thermostat on the top of the motor though? This is the first dodge ive had, so im not completely familiar with this motor yet. Pretty sure i got it all cleaned off. Discounted price on a decent pump through an account and just a thought it may be warped bc i have no clue how hot the guy...
It leaks when i shut it off, seems like when its running it doesnt leak. I wouldnt say gushing but usually end up with a good size puddle of coolant underneath the truck.
Got it from oreillys. It seems to be working though. Ive been watching the temp and it will get to normal op temp and then drop back down. Im starting to think the timing cover is warped too along with the old water pump.
Just replaced the water pump on my 99 5.9 because it blew the gasket and was pouring coolant. I got the new one on today, new gasket and everything went smooth. Idled it to normal op temps and no leak. Drive it around the block and the leak came back. Have checked hoses and appears to be coming...
