Broke vacuum line, is there a cheat
Lol the top of the dash is trashed anyway. Main reason I don't want to pull it yet is I wanted to wait until I had money to replace the dash and everything in one shot so I would be done under there for a while. I did get lucky though, looking at it with better light I had just enough left...- jhamilton86

Yeah its broke past the firewall so looks like I will be pulling the dash. Going to replace the heaer core while I'm in there as I suspect it has a little leak. Last winter I had to bleed air out at least once a week to have good heat but never found where it was leaking. Gonna go with the cut...- jhamilton86

Broke vacuum line, is there a cheat
So the vacuum line for the vents broke right where it passes thru the firewall on my 99. Second time its broke but the first time was under the hood, no big deal. This time its not patchable so I'm wanting to run a new line, but I really don't want to pull the whole dash. Is there a way to...- jhamilton86

Snapping and popping
Did a tune up and it runs much better now. Never thought that would have been it because it acted so much like a fuel issue. Now I get to pull the dash out to fix the vacum line that controls the vents. It broke right where it passes thru the firewall. Always something- jhamilton86

I haven't checked the spark plugs yet, tomorrow I'm doing plugs, wires and distributor cap. I really thought it was going to be fuel related because of how it was acting. OK I have a 99 ram 1500 with the 5.2 engine, 186k miles on it. At first it started just when I got into the throttle a little too heavy it would buck a little then clear up. I ran a bottle of seafoam thru it and that helped for a while, but recently its a lot worse. I had to quit driving it...- jhamilton86

It's been a while but I have helped set up a set of gears so I have a good idea what all is involved. Right now my plan is to get thru the Christmas season, save up some money and then decide but I am leaning towards a tuner first.- jhamilton86

I have no idea if the plenum has been fixed or not, I've only had the truck about a year now. I can say I am fairly confident it is not leaking at this time though. I have read up on the symptoms and I don't see any of them. The only oil I lose is about a qt between changes coming from the rear...- jhamilton86
