Piston slap
Regarding cold start knocking noise on 5.7 hemi motors. This is piston slap, do not be lied to by others. Ram put a new motor in mine because of this problem. These motors are known for this problem. Dont be fooled.- Mike Moseley

6.4 HD Oil Question
I have had 2 5.7 hemi in Ram pick up trucks and i have run 15w40 Rotella in everyone and have put 180,000 miles on them with no trouble ever. in fact the engines ran much quieter. forget that manual they manufactures only run thin water for oil for cafe reasons. do not listen to these people...- Mike Moseley

oil for 5.7 Ram
I have posted this several times, I repeat again Ram owners need not use 5w20 oil in there trucks, The only reason Ram does this is for CAFE Standards, I have had three Ram 1500 5.7 motors, and in all three i have used Delo 15w40 oil and the engine is much quieter and smoother the MDS has always...- Mike Moseley
