Last Ram I will ever purchase
That really does suck, especially for what these vehicles cost these days. It was quite the opposite experience for me with my 4th gen Ram 1500s. My 2017 and 2019, aside from the silly 3rd brake light water leaks on both, gave me zero issues in the ~70K miles I owned both to.- PoMansRam

Your ZF8 has a drain plug on the plastic pan, although it's partially blocked by an exhaust cross-over pipe on most models. I've never heard of anyone trying to pump fluid out from the side mounted fill port. Not sure if it's a clear shot in there and you'd have to hook the hose downward and...- PoMansRam

It could be a broken rocker arm or lifter issue, but these problem aren't common on pentastar powered Ram 1500s, or you don't hear of it often at least.
