Code C159E, air pump temperature sensor fault

2018 3500 diesel dually with rear air suspension. I have searched for this on the forum and on the web to no avail. The "service air suspension" alert has popped up intermittently for the last year or so and always when temps were in the 60's. Now, it is coming up much more often and I...

    Cameras not functioning

2018 3500 Laramie. Neither camera will function. Backup doesn't come on in reverse or when selected from the apps screen. There isn't a black screen it just never tries to turn them on. Update: they started working last night. Gremlins at work.

    Navigation location error

Reviving an old thread. My 2018 Ram 3500 thinks we're in Mexico when we're in Washington state. I've gone through the above recommendations and the system is up to date. Seems like the GPS is way off. Compass appears to be correct, but I don't really go by it.

2018 3500 DRW struggles uphill with 5th wheel

Axle ratio is 4.1, per the window sticker online. I recall boost pressure being close to 30 on the gauge.

2018 3500 DRW struggles uphill with 5th wheel

As I recall no DTC's were set, however I am intermittently getting the "charge air temp" fault. Happens when outside temps are in the 60's. Tow/haul mode is on as well as auto exhaust brake. I didn't note the RPM's exactly but definitely above 2000 and in drive it doesn't show the gear. Fuel...

2018 3500 DRW struggles uphill with 5th wheel

I tow a 40' 5th wheel with a max weight of 21,000 lbs. I haven't weighed it recently, but I'm pretty sure I'm not exceeding that, at least not by much. We recently made a short trip in the Texas hill country and the truck struggled up the moderate hills, slowing to 30 mph or so. We had a mega...

Increasing tow capacity of 2018 3500

Thanks for the replies. I neglected to mention the truck is a 4x4 dually. I'll check on the recertification. Shouldn't be too big a deal, hopefully. I forgot about the CDL license requirements due to the weight. Have to look into that. Researching how the frames are built on 5th wheels...

Increasing tow capacity of 2018 3500

I've posted before about searching for a 5th wheel and the truck to tow it with. After much research I thought I'd found the truck that would tow anything we found, a 2018 3500 mega cab with the Aisin transmission and 3.74 rear, as we were looking at RV's in the 16-17k lb range. Recently...

    Radio not keeping stored stations

2018 3500 dually laramie longhorn. I've reprogrammed a couple of stations (XM) several times and they tend to revert back to the old settings when I shut the engine off. They stay as long as it's running. Kinda getting tired of this behavior. Anyone seen this?

    Fuel filler tube leaking?

No, she did not use a funnel. I didn't know there is one with the jack, have to look now. Thanks.

    Fuel filler tube leaking?

2018 3500 laramie longhorn dually. We just bought this beast/beauty in January. My wife filled it today then later put in some additive. A couple of minutes later she noticed fuel dripping on the floor. I got under the tank and the filler tube was covered with gunk and there was some fluid...

Will be first time towing 5th wheel. Advise on final drive ratio and capacity

So we got a 2018 3500 Laramie Longhorn Mega cab yesterday. Of course it has the shorter bed so I'll need a hitch with slides, but that's no problem. It's pretty much like the 1500 we had, but white/gold with a tan interior (which is nicer). Steering is a bit loose for my taste so we'll have...

2015 Ram Cummins diesel verses Duramax LML

I did a quick search for duramax and didn't come up with much so here I go. I'm not looking for trash talk about the Duramax as it may be a fine motor. That said, we drove a 2015 Silverado LTZ the other day and really like the way it rides. Towing capacity should be fine for the 5th wheel we...

Air suspension verses standard with air bags

18crew, I agree with your opinion on getting the Aisin and HO diesel. Most have the 3.73 and that is fine for the 5er's I'm looking at. Thanks for the input on the suspension. Since it's easier to find standard spring setups I'll just add something like the timbergrove setup. Thanks for all...

Air suspension verses standard with air bags

The timbergrove is what I'm looking at and stabilization is more my interest. If the factory air suspension provides a better ride then it may be worth pursuing, but I've not read that is the case.
