has anyone trimmed their bumper

Im thinkin i can trim the bottom of my factory bumper down givin more front clearance anyonw tried this, if so how did you do it.

Maybe just a different bumper in the front instead of attacking a resellable bumper. Just thinking out loud.

That lower air dam is there for gas mileage mainly. It may come off easily. If you cut the bottom lip where it is molded back you will reduce it's strength and it could flop in the wind.

I wouldn't, if I were you if just buy an aftermarket number rather than cut away at the stock one

I did this to my truck after an unfortunate run-in with a very deep rut. I removed the lower air dam, and took my angle grinder to the tabs that hold it on as well as the plastic mounts that hang down on the back side that provide support to the dam. There is a rivet on each side of the dam just in front of the tires that need to come out. As long as you go slow and take your time only cutting the tabs your bumper will still look factory when you are done. Unfortunately, I am deployed right now so I cannot get you any pictures.
