I do on my 5 speed, otherwise I usually get a code when transmission shifts from 4-5 on its own.

Unless I feel the transmission is hunting for a gear, I leave the TOW/HAUL mode off. Unloaded, I have never had a true needed to use it in city traffic.

It is a must with the 8 speed and 3.6 pentastar. Shift points and overall RPM is set too low, making it sluggish with no throttle response. Looking for a tuner to bring those up without having to use tow/haul mode

When I brought my truck in the other day they updated the system and one of the updates applied to shift points. I have a Hemi so it may not apply, but I though I would mention it.

I do it with my Pentastar/8 speed in city driving/city highway driving just because it keeps it in the proper part of the power band for immediate acceleration, vs running at 1200 rpm and needing to shift before I can accelerate in 60 mph traffic.

Same here with my 2013 v6/8spd CC 4x4 because of the rolling hills along the interstate during my drive to/from work. If I'm on a long flat interstate during a trip I certainly leave it off, but it's much more responsive in Tow/haul.

I'm running my 5.7/6 speed 2500 in T/H mode more often. Driveability is so much nicer than the constant gear hunting. Once I'm on interstate, I put it back to "normal" mode.

I use tow/haul 75 to 80% of the time. With the CAI, exhaust, throttle body and tuner, it makes the truck more....obnoxious, and fun to drive.

This is key. I have a 545RFE yet and I had to set shift points higher. Using tow/haul just wasn't quite to my liking. I took diablosports canned towing tune and jacked up the part throttle upshift points 200ish rpms across the board. Now when I make a right turn from a stop light I don't have to spin the tires to keep it in 2nd :naughty: Downshifting into 2nd is something that the 545RFE doesn't like.

my camper is on 7/8 months of the year,so tow/haul is always on.it drives/shifts way better, especially when i put the camper away for the winter.as for gas mileage? i'f i cared about gas mileage i'd drive a prius, not a truck.
