2016 1500 Rear suspension a bit out of sorts.

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 with factor air ride. I was getting on to I-95 yesterday and decided to put down the pedal. From what I can tell the tires never broke loose but the rear end felt like it was all over the place. Didn't feel planted at all. Not at all what a 4 link should feel like. When getting back on I-95 to head south later I did the same thing and got the same results. I am gonna get under the truck later today to see if any of the bushings are worn. Does not seem like that should be the case with only 19K on the truck. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for upgrade parts either poly bushings or new upper and lowers (possibly pan-hard)? Thanks

I test drove a 15 with only 40k miles and really didn't like how the aorbags drove on the highway. It would bobble from rear to opposite front. The truck wasn't beat up but did show some use. I didn't really investigate the real problem. May have been bad tires. But it felt like the bags were not inflated to the same pressures.

Thanks Jay and Atom. I do not think it is just a sway bar issue. It feels like more than that. Kinda feels like there is no pan-hard bar. I guess for 200.00 it would be worth a try. I am going to look under the truck later Jay and if all the stock bushings look good I will order the sway tomorrow. Also how come you do not carry the non adjustable uppers and lowers?

Josh,
You'll have to ask Matt that question at Moe's Performance. He's really helpful and won't steer you wrong. If he thinks it will help he'll tell you, if he doesn't he won't try to sell it to you---You can trust him!!!!!

I feel like my rearend is moving side to side at times like the panhard bar bushings are crap and letting things wiggle around.
I was going to start looking for poly bushings for it.

Yes it was.

I have ordered from him before. I do trust his judgment.

Let me know if you find a kit for that. However after looking under my truck this afternoon they looked like it would be a real pain to remove the stock rubber.

An upgraded swaybar will definitely help with that "loose" feeling at higher speeds.

The stock control arm bushings are not very dependable, so upgrading the rear arms with better bushings is a big improvement as well in both stability and eliminating wheel hop.

Spohn makes a great set of arms, but we have had some trouble with their bushings lately. We are now switching over to another company called Core4x4 for the upgraded rear control arms. They are very stout, and come with poly bushings on 1 side and a Johnny Joint on the other. They sent us 2 sets last week to inspect, and we have 11 more sets on order that are supposed to ship later this week.

It may have been traction control applying the brakes to one wheel, then the other, causing to feel unbalanced.

Try a hard launch with traction control off. Just be careful at first to make sure you don't end up doing a 360. :D

I am going to order the rear sway for now. Please let me know what you think of the Core4x4. Do they have a set that has the mount for the air ride arm?

I will give it a try but I am pretty sure it was not that.

Tried it again with the traction off and felt pretty much the same. Maybe I need to invest in a GoPro and I could actually see what the rear end is doing.

They are out of Johnny Joints, so we are waiting for these to come in before listing them. Black will be $499 for the set, and red are $519.

Hey I hear they make track bars and end links too (or are going to), is that something that you'll eventually add to your site too, Matt? @Hemi450hp

Possibly. I feel like the endlinks are overkill. Adjustable panhard bar will be an improvement for the lifted/lowered guys though.

@Hemi450hp, Matt there are plenty of guys here who'd like Spence to make the endlinks, if for no other reason than to complete the set. I am going to ping you about Rear UCA/LCA, Panhard and endlinks. Spence gave me a price some time ago, I'd like to order those through you. - Jack

Hey, you are coming Saturday to Luckenbach??

Swaybar is in and it makes the truck feel much better. However it has not tamed the rear end completely, but it was an improvement. Debating now to go either with lowers and panhard or do all of them.
