'14 OEM Quad Headlights - DRL? Switchback bulbs?

Reading a lot of DRL activation threads, but they all seem to be regarding projector or custom or aftermarket headlights...

Can I have DRL activated at a dealer with my '14 OEM Quad chrome headlights? If so, would it be the orange turn signals? If so, can I retro switchback bulbs in somehow?

on the quads it activates the low beam bulb at a reduced voltage IIRC

That is correct...just had mu quads done using the FCA L1 code. Took mine in for its first oil change and tire rotation and handed them the paper. Everything took about 1 hour. Some here have said the dealer charged them for the activation, but mine didn’t.

It really does vary from dealer to dealer. They will more than likely activate either the low beam on reduced or high reduced. If you want more of a selection, you would have to program yourself or have someone program it for you. Being as you have a 14', there have been mixed results on whether or not you can have high on reduced using AlfaOBD to program them.

Went to dealer yesterday. They claim after trying for an hour, there is no sales code for 2013/2014.

Yeah like what was said earlier it varies from dealer to dealer. I used the Alfaobd tool and have my DRL activated on my 14.

This does not surprise me. I would say try another dealer or find someone with the Alfa tool to help switch them for you. I know the 14's have a few issues when setting certain codes with Alfa (high beam for DRL) but there are those out there that have DRLs in different locations using Alfa.

There are a few more dealers in my area. Ya, I do think AlfaOBD might be something I would try. But not sure it's worth it just for DRL. The only other thing that I want enabled is the back-up camera - Does AlfaOBD have that capability? Does my Uconnect 3/5 even have back-up camera to enable?

Alfa does have the capability to enable the OEM factory backup cam. I assume you're referring to the 5" screen radio, then yes, it can enable the backup cam. My 16' came with the RA2 radio with 5" screen and factory rev cam.

Edit: Now thanks to Alfa, I have the cargo cam operational as well but using it in the front cam position.

I definitely don’t regret my purchase. I will offer this warning of caution. Take it from someone who has nearly made a paperweight of their BCM. Be careful what you change and take plenty of notes of the settings you adjust.

Which location do you have set?

I have the dedicated DRL set. My Limited came with factory projectors and the high beam DRL did not work.
