I have a 2013 1500 with the 8.4" RA3 head unit.
I found a good deal on a RA4 unit from a Chrysler 200 that I would like to swap into my truck -- mainly because it's a cheap (free) way to add Navigation to my truck (once i sell my RA3, I will pretty much recoup what I paid for the RA4).

My question is, will I have any issues with this radio being from a Chrysler 200?

I Have an OBDLink MX on the way, and will be getting the AlfaOBD software, so will that give me all the tools i need to "convert" this radio to a RAM radio?

Thanks!

It will work.it will have a chrysler logo on start up and then read your bcm and look just like a ram radio .however it will not fit in a ram unless the mount has been changed.the mounts are totally different. the only mounts that will fit are a ram ,jeep cherokee or modified durango.

Thanks, Todd!

Will i lose Navigation once it reads my BCM, and sees that my truck didn't originally have Nav?

No the nav is built in the radio.your sirris Xm antenna also works as a GPS for the nav.

Awesome! I'm going to give it a try! Seems like I should be able to remove the mounting bracket from my RAM radio, and swap it onto the 200 radio.

Will keep you guys posted how it goes next week!

Unfortunately the Chrysler 200 radio will not work. It looks the same, but the CAN bus isn't the same as in the RAMs. It uses 29bit (extended ARBID) CAN, where the RAM uses 11bit CAN. The radio won't even startup.

I don't know about other model years but I ran a 15 200 in my 18 ram for a week without issue.when first installed the 200 had the chrysler logo and blue 200 back ground.after a key cycle. The ram logo popped up and could choose between 7 ram logo screens like a ram radio.voice commands everything worked like normal.it actually worked better than the 16 cherokee 8.4ca radio I have now.I sold him the radio and got his back anyway.but it 100 percent turned right on and worked great in my ram.I could have just swaped cases and passed it off as a ram unit but I don'the do crap like that. I think I have pics with the part number on the screen with it in my ram in the for sale section I usually do.

Yup! I can confirm it works in my 2013 RAM.

Radio, GPS, RAM splash screens, etc all working without a hitch!

Any idea where I can buy the ram radio brackets? I just picked uo a chrysler 200 RA3 with Navi too. I currently have an RA3 for ram but want to buy different brackets for the new unit.
