Will 2013 backup camera work on 2009?

I have a 2013 and a 2009, both 1500s, the 2013 is a project to flip, but I’m keeping the 2009. Is it possible to swap everything for the backup camera from the 2013 to the 2009? I know the canbus is completely different between the two, but since the camera screen is in the rear view mirror and not the radio, I don’t believe the backup camera is affiliated with the canbus at all?

The 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, was the first year that CanBus C was used by Chrysler.
2 of the Jeep models also used CanBus C in 2009

CanBus C is also referred to as HIGH SPEED
CanBus Low Speed was still used in the rest of the Chrysler Fleet

The easiest way for me to tell, which CanBus a vehicle has, is to look up if the Radio is High or Low Speed

Most businesses make a written statement, when it comes to High or Low Speed canbus


This radio does not require programming its a plug and play model. This unit will ONLY work in vehicles with the high speed CANBUS system.
