However, if you do want to pay to activate factory nav instead of installing a new radio, check out navrepair.com. Was cheaper for me than adding it through a dealer and worked great.

Yes all Peterbilt trucks are still made in Denton TX.
Kenworth trucks are made in Kent Washington.
Most of the 13 letter **** spreaders(International) are made in Garland TX.

I love my truck!

The rear axle pinion nut issue
Spark plug locations
Flimsy 12 volt power points, they break easily.
Intrusive ESC and engine throttling.

Can take or leave the MDS.

And a just a gripe because of the trim level I have: no auto dimming driver side mirror. I think this should be standard on all models as a safety feature just like the night/day rearview mirror, especially with people and their bright ass lights.

Don't know why people are complaining about the headlights, this is the first vehicle where I don't feel the need to go to a brighter bulb.

What issue is that?

Spark plug locations

That’s just nature of beast. As things get more and more compact, everything’s hard to access anymore.

Well, it’s plastic. Everything’s plastic anymore, just gotta be careful. If flimsy plastic is that bad for ya, go get ya an old classic that’s made outta diehard blue steel.
Intrusive ESC and engine throttling.
Please explain.

I think it is now. But if it’s not then yeah, you’re right, it’s needs to be.

I just like a brighter bulb anyways but at least with the projectors, they weren’t bad at all.

I personally cannot stand the rotary shifter. Seemed like a small thing when I bought it, but have already had issues with it. Also, this is the second time in less than a year that the a/c condenser has gone bad. Mechanics told me that it’s a common problem :-/

Your mechanic is wrong. Not a common issue.

I don’t like that I feel like the valvetrain in my truck is a ticking time bomb that’ll go out after my extended warranty lapses.

Depending on whether or not you have warranty after the factory runs out, you can always run a 30w oil in that Redline stuff. A lot of people swear by it. But primarily just run a good oil.

I have considered going that route. Mine has ticked on startup at random times but it quietens down within seconds after startup. I have 9,000 miles left or until October 2020 left of the CPO warranty I have when I bought the truck. I run a 5w20 blend now, I have looked into a 5w30 full synthetic. I change my oil every 4900-5200 miles and I rarely let it idle. With 91k miles the truck has only 7 idle hours which I hope helps my case with my camshaft holding out!

Read the oil threads, these hemis like high moly oils, redline & Penzoil Ultra Platinum are both great for that. I use Quaker State Ultimate Durability, full synthetic, rated very high, has good moly levels AND costs $21 for a 5 qt jug at Wallyworld..(walmart)

Are you running 5w20 or 5w30?
