I've owned light duty half ton trucks most of my life and I decided I needed an HD truck for my RV plans. Now the tire pressures are 60/ 80 psi front and rear but I think this would be loaded air pressure. For instance, what would be recommended for off-road when you would typically air down or just daily driving when lightly loaded?

You'll probably get many different answers. I can just tell you what I've for the last decade. I air down to 50 for daily driving then air up to 70 when towing. That's just how I've always done it and I get excellent wear on my tires. I also rotate religiously.

Just taking the rears down to 60 makes a world of diff. But you’ll have low tire warnings.

I would lower the rear down to 50ish, in the REAR, and see how the rear rides UNLOADED

you need PSI in the front to hold the engine.

and yes, air them all up for towing/hauling/working

since you didn't ask
FWIW, i put a tonneau on my 6.4 HD Megacab 4x4, and it helped the MPG a good bit (the hard cover I had , had a little lip on the rear ) I have tonneau's on my other CTD's, and never gained anything.

if you can drag another vehicle, the 6.4 will get great MPG.

I have the same issue and have gotten the same results that the other members have shared. 2018 2500 6.4 2wd short bed. Rear pressure at 55 and front at 45. Yes you will get the annoying TMPS notice. But ride is much better.

When I got mine all 4 had 80 psi and it rode bad. It swayed and swerved. Felt like I was constantly moving the wheel to keep it straight. Lowered the fronts to 65 as recommended on the door jamb and it rides much better now

I lowered the front to 65 and the rear to 75. Better, but I'll keep testing. Thanks for all the help! I really like this truck!

My truck is an RC/ 8ft bed with an ARE shell recently installed. ~15 mpg; about the same as my H3T with the 3.7L I5.
