Has anyone used Sta Lube Gl5 CRC 24239 Multi-Purpose Gear Oil, SAE-Gallon, 128. ... Lucas Oil LUC10046 SAE 80W-90 Heavy Duty Gear Oil - 1 Gallon in there front and rear differential? Getting ready to change the fluid and trying to decide what to use. Do I need to put an non slip additive in there also?

You don't need the limited slip differential friction modifier for the factory HD LSD, it is a helical-gear type. If the gear lube you decide to use has it, that's fine too.
With the HD truck, you can use a 75W90 gear lube, preferably a full synthetic.
A lot of guys use Redline, PM @Nick@GotExhaust for pricing. Mobil 1 is another good one to use.

X2^^^^ Synthetic gear oil and engine oil are better in EVERY way when compared to Dino, just do the research and look at
reviews....

There is a ton of paper out there on gear oils, two oils you probably want to avoid are royal purple and lucas. On the other hand two you might want to look at are Amsoil SG and Redline. Many other good otc brands as well, m1 is known to be good torco as well. Lucas is probably the worst gear oil out there from what I have read. Search gear fluid studies.

Yep Lucas and Royal Purple score WAY DEAD LAST in every gear oil test I've seen [emoji23][emoji23] [emoji23]

Lucas synthetic is bad........Lucas dino is good.
All the gear shops I know do not recommend synthetic of any kind during the 500 mile break-in of gears and if used the warranty is void.

Amsoil & Redline synthetic are recommended after break-in if not using Lucus dino.
Just saying Lucas dino performs well, just have to change more often.

Might as well go with Redline since basically all synthetic gear oils are about the same price and you know you're getting the best! I've had great luck with Mobil 1 but no point in using it if Redline is within shouting distance pricewise which it is.
