So, last night my son was driving my truck due to a heavy snow storm. He was trying to climb his friends driveway when the front axle actuator blew clean off the axle. Looks like the bushing came apart. It is a 2014 2500 with 80+k on the odometer. Anyone have info on a repair or any chance the powertrain warranty will cover it?

Warranty coverage depends on when you bought it. For the ‘14 it’s 5yr/100K whichever comes first.

hmm. climbing a snowy driveway eh. rear tires probly going 40mph. fronts probly 5mph. something likely to break if it was shifted to 4x4. a smart dealer probly will know what happened and tell you to pound sand

It was already in 4x4. It was engaged prior to leaving the house. We got a foot of heavy wet snow, that truck wasn’t moving in 2wd.

And that's why he's "crazy jerry" and you're just regular Jerry L. I'm wondering why crazy jerry threw Jerry L Jr. under the bus like that, LOL.
