I saw the truck picture on ebay when I was looking for a GPS antenna. Does anyone know who makes it? I want to upgrade and I like this one pretty good.

I think that's an AEV bumper. They cost a pretty penny.

It's stamped steel. And DOT certified to work with your air-bags. Unlike every other steel bumper out there that jim bob welded.

The DOT doesn’t certify any products. What should be said is “DOT compliant”, which, in the case of bumpers, has nothing to do with airbag compatibility (or passenger safety for that matter). That is the job of the acceleration and pressure impact sensors. The DOT regulations for the front bumper deal with how well the bumper protects front end components at certain speeds.

Regardless they overcharge for what you get. If you’re implying their markup/premium is justified then ya crazy lol.
No ones saying it’s not a great bumper. I think the consensus is that it’s a cool bumper.
Just feel like they’re gouging a little that’s all.

That high price includes new fog lights and all sorts of options that may not apply. Diesel power products has one for 2500s where the stock fog light option is free. The other cost would be a plate for the winch which is like $5. Mine came on my truck but I will buy another if I trade up!

Right but I feel like the AEV bumper without some good lighting and the winch is kind of like buying a Ferrari with the engine from a Ford Fiesta.

the cheapest I was able to piece together the 1500 bumper was $2700 with no winch etc.

AEV products are sold and marketed as original equipment. They make and designed many of the OE Jeep JK bumpers for Jeep. They make quality goods.

“Needs” is subjective. You must have picked every lighting and winch upgrade available. You can configure a $20k laptop on apples website if you click everything available. That doesn’t mean that the $1k laptop isn’t a great option either. I paid about $2,600 with the right fog light bezels and power wagon winch kit.

Considering the truck had a winch factory etc. and you kept the oem fogs what is the benefit/upgrade for going with the AEV on your truck?

For my truck the benefit would be the winch and the upgraded fogs. So wtf wouldn’t I add those options? If I don’t add them then I don’t stand to benefit very much other than in the aesthetics department.
