What have you plugged into 110v?

E Bike battery chargers and battery charger to power 5 th wheel hydraulics when picking up out of stowage when batts are dead.
I’m thinking I need to keep an extension cord around just in case I need it for something.

A house 110 air freshener. Works great and last a long time
More than one person has plugged in an air freshener. Isn’t it overwhelming in a small confined area?

Ram commercial: “The new Ram 2500 Heavy Duty truck handles anything you can throw at it. And it smells like petunias.”

Having three 110-400W receptacles on my 2019 Limited with RAMbox. I use them all the time. On the console, I have a Surface laptop tucked in the side console pocket, with the charger always keeping it fully charged. In the back seat, I charge my DeWalt batteries. In the Rambox, I charge a DeWalt air-compressor/jump-box unit. Also in the Rambox, I have a 12V battery I keep charged for my ham-radio gear.

If you have the 400W outlet in the Rambox, remember there is a button on the lower left of the steering column. You have to remember to push every time I start the truck.

Being an owner of a truck camper I have learned very quickly about power needs. Even though most of these 110 outlets will never be more than 400 watts they still come in handy for many small electrical items. I have a Jackery 1000 for my next step up,then i jump to a Champion 2500 dual fuel inverter generator which can power my whole camper including the AC.

The 400w aux power plugs are basically a gimmick. Yes they’ll charge a laptop or tool batteries, but most power tools(corded) are out. Maybe they have more power available with dual alternators, that I don’t know. I charge my jump pacs via 12v charger. Tries once to run a power tool and kicked off immediately. A true capability to run a 15amp circuit would be welcome.
I wouldn't call it a gimmick. It says 400 watts which would mean you can power something within that range.

It's pretty worthless IMO. None of my power tools will work with it. Ford has kicked RAM's ass in this regard.

Pulls too many amps.
I tried using my small DeWalt air compressor once but it wouldn't kick on. Not sure the power demands from it. That's the only thing I've tried in mine.

That should work, wonder why?

Funny timing here. My boys got tickets to the Steeler game for tonight. Pretty hot commodity with it likely being Bens last home game. So anyway, oldest step-son has a 2020 Tundra, other step-son has a 2018 Sierra 1500 and my son has a 2021 2500 Cummins. The Sierra and Cummins both have 110v outlets. They went pretty early and were tailgating. One step-son (Sierra) went and bought a torpedo heater today figuring he could plug it into his outlet. He needed it for his garage anyway. Found out it won't work but he called me asking me about the outlet in mine. Told him about it not powering my compressor and about this thread. So they took a propane tank heater instead...lol

I'm not going to use my $50,000+ truck as a generator. In fact, with my diesel truck I carry a Honda 2000 so I can plug it in so it will start at camp in Adirondacks during the winter months. 400 watts is fine in the truck for charging our cordless batteries and electronic devices, but I wouldn't even think to use it to build a house.

I found this chart to give a better idea of the capabilities. It shows what some items require for watts. Basically anything that gets hot like an iron, heater, coffee maker, uses alot of wattage from 800-1500 so they're a no-go.
Here's the link.

I use the word gimmick because very few things, in my world, are under that limit. Something in the 1500 watt area is about minimum that is useful to me, at least in the bed of the truck. It is a gimmick to me, because it rarely is of any use.

2.8 amps =300 watts, But with a motor start up current would be more like 500 watts.
My 14 sport has a 110v on the dash, I just use it for phone .
This looks like it.

sorry to get personal. I’m not in your shoes. I’m politely curious why you say “step sons“ rather than just “sons”. You say “my boys” but then specifically segregate them. I’m not bashing, just curious.

They have a dad and I don't want to step on toes. Not sure if my son had a step-father that I would be ok with him calling my son his son. Could be wrong but that's my thoughts and after 28 years being their step-father it's habit. But when I say 'my boys' it's a little less personal or infringing to their dad

My wife plugs her computer in all the time on road trips. She has also ran her hair straighteners it. We use it camping occasionally to blow up rafts and stuff like that. Like everyone else has said, it's not a heavy duty outlet by any means.
