I am wondering if someone has a lead on a Kayak rack for a 2016 reg cab short box with ram boxes, I would still like to be able to utilize my roll up tonneau cover. I am in Canada so it would be nice to find something local but I doubt it. The other option is getting one made. ThanksIMG_5567.jpg

Would the Adarac system work? Don't know about ram boxes but it works with my tonneau cover.

You can get the cheap ones that are metal, but they will rust if they are not completely coated. Anything aluminum will be above 500.

I made my own racks out of 2 X 3s and some heavy duty "L" brackets. I slid some carriage bolts inside the top rail of the ram box system and tightened the L brackets down. I fabricated the rest from the lumber and some Simpson Strong Tie connectors. I then used some heavy duty ratchet straps to hold the kayaks tightly to the ring hooks in the bed. You could also do something similar right above the bed. I take the racks off when I'm not hauling the kayaks. I had to do it this way because I tow a travel trailer at the same time and the kayaks were too close to the front of the trailer when I had them down low. So far this set up is strong. I can also still access my Ram Boxes.
