My 2019 RAM 1500 5.7 Hemi Warlock's warranty will expire at the end of this year. 51,000 Km on the clock at the moment. (We live in town and don't have to use it too much). I have it regularly serviced at the dealership and it's running well with no issues and I'm really happy with it. I don't think a change of vehicle is necessary, especially as interest rates are higher at the moment and will hopefully fall back in the future. My question is, should I pay someone to give the truck a full inspection before the warranty expires, giving myself enough time to get any unapparent problems sorted out under the warranty? If so, do any of you know of any recurrent problems that are apparent on this model/year. All opinions gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Check your exhaust manifold bolts. They're definitely going to break. Hopefully while still under warranty.

Jake, is the 5 year extended warranty, the longest Extended warranty that you can get for your Ram?
Did they offer a longer plan??

Down here in the US, my extended warranty was about to expire time wise. My Mileage is fairly LOW.
I found out that i could pay Dodge to do a Complete Inspection
Then i bought another extended MOPAR warranty
They call it a

5/60 Pre-Owned Maximum Care
( Option Code: UM5602N )

It expires: 01/14/2029 or 124,788 Miles

Our warranty options are very limited up here. I have the same crappy 5 year warranty.

I've seen US Dodge dealers offering warranty packages with longer periods and they say that the warranty is applicable for Canadian's too.

The last time I looked, the US/Canadian exchange was about $1.32 Canadastan/US $ and that's an improvement from earlier.

I had a taste of the Canadian exchange rate :(
I entered Ontario, Canada with U.S. dollars
I was in Toronto & i was going to be there at a Motel for 2 days
I paid for the room, using a Credit Card & i was very lucky to even get a room, there was a bunch of construction, apparently the construction workers pay for the motels for 7 days & the motel managers are told by the construction workers that they will be leaving for 1, 2, or 3 days, that allows the motel manager to double dip, in other words, they can re-rent the room to tourists, but those tourists are told when they have to leave by.

So i went to a fancy sports bar to meet with my Canadian friends,
When i paid for a round of drinks, i paid with American money & quickly found out from my friends, that the waitress got a good tip,
because of the Exchange Rate.

It happened again in a Timmies & again at a bar close to the motel

Lets's just say, U.S. Americans get taken when in Canada
When i got to a town in Missouri, i gave a pocket full of Canadian change to a cute waitress, she visits Canada often

Your best deal when visiting Canada would be to exchange your money for Canadian $ at a bank or money exchange place first.

Like everything, you might save even more if you shop around but with the exchange rate over 30%, that's a great return regardless of where you go.

I believe that i was told by my banking establishment, that when you use a Credit Card, that the transaction, money conversion, is automatically converted.
The last time that i was in Canada, was around August 2017
I visited Canada on 4 different very fun occasions.

I was staying at the Home of 1 of the Test Riders for a Canadian Motorcycle Magazine 2 of the times that i visited

Thanks all. I'll speak to my dealership to see what options they have/suggest for inspection by them before the existing warranty expiration/renewal. I'll post the results here when I get some detail.

My credit card seems to be a bit inconsistent with the exchange rate.

Sometimes, it's a great deal and other's, not so much.

I have a membership renewal in Florida to pay tomorrow. It's not too expensive, so I was going to gamble and use my bank cc.

You might do better if you have an independent shop go over it before taking it to a dealer.I don't know if i'd trust a dealer to give you an honest answer, they might be inclined to just glance at it,with the hopes nothing goes wrong till you're off warrenty. Then they can gouge you on the repairs, that might have been done under warrenty if you knew about said issues. If you have a local shop you trust,i'd go there first,so you at least have a fighting chance at the dealer.

IF ..
You are going to try to get another Contract, ( Extended Mopar Warranty ), like i did, your Ram has to be inspected by a Dodge Dealership.
It does not mean that you have to buy the Contract through your local dealership, i bought mine online, through a Dealership that is offering discounts .

I bought a 2016 Ram 3500 Cummins in Sept 2020 with 92,000 Kilometres on it. I was able to purchase a factory-extended bumper-to-bumper warranty giving me another 5 years or 100,000 kilometres. It runs out Sept. 2025. I wonder if I can extend it again.

CarShield is a GREAT third party warranty. I have it for my 2020 RAM 1500. I purchased it at 65,000 miles. You pay a monthly fee, which varies on what you choose. I have bumper to bumper and it's $88 a month.
The deductible is $100, and it covers EVERYTHING. I cracked my uconnect screen two months ago, covered. I broke my tailgate...covered. can't say enough good things about them.
