I located a 2024 Ram1500 Limited with 21k miles for $ 51k. It has the elite package with the Indigo and Sea Salt interior, minis sunroof, and bed cover. It has the 4 corner air suspension I'm not sure if that something I want considering I live in Nashville TN. Dealership offer lifetime warranty on the powertrain but encourage me to look for a warranty that going to take the mileage into 140k miles or 10 yrs.

Can someone help me out I'm new to the forum and this would be my 1st Ram truck. I'm coming out of a 2023 GMC Denali Ultimate 6.2L with only 25k miles, a real nightmare steering rack went out twice while driving, lifters replaced and transmission replaced. Sold the truck the most money I got back was $58k in my pocket. I like the truck but was scared to drive it .

Should I pass on the 5.7 with e torque or go for the v6 ho engine. Any advice will be appreciated.

I would look at the Car Fax and see what issues, if any, the truck has had. If it’s pretty clean at 21k miles then to me that would be a good sign. A good extended warranty plan would be a good idea (or some money squirreled away in a rainy day account). All of the big 3 truck lines have reliability issues. Nobody likes e-torque but not everyone has problems with it. But thinking about extended coverage just in case is a good idea. The air suspension on Gen 5 trucks is pretty reliable and personally I really like it. One of the worst problems RAM owners seem to be dealing with is lack of parts and long wait for parts. After 2024, the new Atlantis electrical system and computers/programming issues is taking a toll.

Good luck

Just for your clarity: On the 2024, you have E Torque with the V8. Read up on both sides of the issue and decide if you wanna jump or not.
V6 is a Pentastar motor, not an HO motor.
HO/SO motors, you are referring to are the New Hurricane inline engines that debuted in 2025. There have been some issues reported, but it seems the bigger problem on the 2025 and beyond is the new Atlantic Electrical Architecture issues more than mechanical.

You gonna have to do your due diligence and decide. A lot will depend upon what you need a truck for.

SINCE you asked, I will tell you MY Opinion only:
1) No way E junkola. (I am not a hater, but would worry about the MGU system and potential loss of value if RAM drops E junkola on trucks).
2) 2025/2026 in line 6, I would not either, unless you just plan on using your truck as a Grocery Getter and not a lot of hard truck work.
3) You want a HEMI, wait for a 2027 model that is supposed to be coming out without E Junkola.

But remember, 2025 and beyond, you still gotta be cognizant of electrical issues.

I would wait for a 27 no E Torque, but U R looking at, at least 60K on the new rides.

All above IMHO only.

I have a 2024 Limited Elite 1500 that's 26 months old now. It has 4 corner air suspension, HUD, deployable side steps, barn door tailgate, bed liner, etc. While it only has 11,800 miles on it, the only issue I've had is a bad 12V battery at 10 months which I replaced myself with an Odyssey AGM. I've owned a lot of vehicles, and the seats are the most comfortable ever! With the air suspension, it rides like a Mercedes. I'm super happy with my truck!!2024 RAM 1500 LTD Elite.jpg

Thank for the input fellas, I appreciate the Pro-tip, I need to do some homework I do like the fact there is a lot of warranty left. I do love the truck by not a big fan of Patriot Blue, but money talks, I guess.
This truck is within my budget. The truck basically will be used for running local errands, appointments and maybe a few road trips. That's it. I don't need a truck it just I feel bare around the house without a truck for some reasons it's been 4 months without a truck, and everything is fine. But sometimes a truck come in handle around the house. I could locate and older truck, but the way my mind is setup I like the latest gadget within my budget. SMH.

I don’t usually comment but, have had non e torque and etorque high spec trucks.

Then, I bought a 25 Limited Longhorn. What a machine! I don’t WANT lots of noise, I don’t NEED to tow a barge up the road, I just like a fancy truck cos I like it and for occasional use for household stuff and yard work. Off road? Nope. Don’t hate on me now……

This truck and engine combo is absolutely fantastic! For me, my purpose and satisfaction, the Hurricane HO is it! Quick, quiet and refined.

Oh yeah! It NEVER rattles at start up, unlike all three of my previous ones. Don’t need to do any fancy non start procedure to stop lifter tick on initial cold start.

But I do wish I had a dipstick so the one behind my wheel could check his oil! Like someone else on here I had a gauge/sensor possibly not correct and dealer had to drain out the fresh oil and refill to make sure correct amount had been put in! Absolute stupidity!

I gave up on the 2024 1500 Limited today. I test drove a 2026 Limited with the H.O. I really dig the heads-up display. But that $ 80k plus sticker raised my BP. Im going to try to find a low mileage 2025 Limited I may have to travel out of state for the right truck.

Regardless of wateva us Internet sleuths say get wat works for U.

I will say if U get SO motor run 89 fuel. HO well it requires 91 or above. Just keep an eye on the electrics and wateva U do change the oil at a decent interval not wat till the idjut system says to.

All above IMHO only.

What’s your budget if you don’t mind me asking? Nobody is paying sticker for these trucks, I got mine for $16k off sticker.
That HO is a monster ain’t it! Haha

I plan on getting what I want this will be the last truck I ever own, with that said my budget is $ 55/60k. But I do want something with some 3/36 warranty just in case I run into an issue after purchasing I really like the Limited Level A Equipment Group, and the Night Edition Pkg. I can live with or without the sunroof feature, Exterior the grey or red. I willing to travel up to 500 miles from Nashville. I was thinking maybe the 4th of July there may be a better deal out there, I don't know what the best time of the year to purchase a truck.

Which is why I personally won't ever get one of these with the Hurricane BUT if you're happy with it, that's what counts.

As for eTorque, there are ways around it.

How to Permanently Disable Auto Start/Stop on Your Ram 1500 - Daily Car Tips

Just note I'm NOT saying you should do this, all I'm pointing out is it's possible. :anitoof:

I'm glad my 2008 doesn't have it at least.

Not sure what time of the year is best to buy but do know the last day of the any month is also a good time to buy as by then have met all sales quota's...

The whole "best time" thing relates more to specificity of what you want, model year cycle, and the current climate of RAM sales/inventory. The calendar/holiday scheme is all marketing and is not DRIVING your deal. Ram, nor any other manufacturer, are not going to take a haircut to celebrate 7/4/250.

If you want exactly what you want, ordering a 2026 *now* is the time. You'll lock in MSRP, today's rebates, APR deal, and still get to swap out to the delivery-date rebates if those are better. Orders will close for 2026 this month at some point we're told.

If you are more vague in your desires, getting a 2026 in November/December MIGHT be a better deal, may be the same, but you're gambling on what you want. This is when we expect to see the 2027s start to overtake 2026 in terms of lot coverage. So the older year MUST have better rebates than the newer, in order to move the product. It is about the truck, not the joyous holiday season.

Then if you don't care what you want, there's "truck month" in the spring, where the prior year now makes up VERY slim % of the lot coverage, and thereby more heavily incentivised 2026s. For buyers looking for a HD tradesman, etc, that is a great time - but if you're more specific, it's a needle in a haystack.

Then the cycle starts all over again. For someone like yourself who claims "last truck" getting a 2026 is best over waiting for 2027, becuase yuo're not gambling with trade value. For someone who trades in every 2-3 years, the 2027 will yield better value so depending on trim level, it could be a tossup (all things equal otherwise, which is never the case LOL)

I’m assuming that budget includes some money down, because you’re not getting into a new limited for that price without it.
Check out Mark Dodge pricing on their website, and get with @AnthonyRI. He’ll get you taken care of
The desired build (Limited, Level A, Night) has an MSRP of $89,200

We can order this for the following price:
MSRP $89,200
Dealer Discount -$11,150
National Rebate -$3500
Doc Fee $436
Temp Tags $4
Total before your state's TTL $74990
*Compatible with 2.9% financing for qualified buyers

Our limiteds on the lot are slightly more equipped, and are similarly discounted.

I'm on Ram Laramie Hemi #3, now with a '24 with air ride and 29,000mi. Not one scratch on this truck. Includes park sense, class 4 hitch never used, bed lights, nice tonneau cover, bumper step, and nice wide black running boards. Black with perfect black leather.

Wife wants a luxury suv, so going today to look.

I'm in Va, and op or any forum guy could have my pristine Laramie with 29,000 mi. for $44k even if you catch me before I trade.

Don't sweat etorque as it's warranted 8/80. Zero trouble to date.

I do have an anomoly with the trans holding in 1st on two occasions. Ram will cure this and it will be free.

So if you want a Laramie Hemi thats like new, I have one. Even has ceramic coat. PM if interested.
