I have 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi 5.7. I'm trying to identify transfer case (See attached picture).
I'm also need to identify transfer case fluid type.
So you have the BorgWarner BW 44-44 which is supposed to use expensive Mopar fluid. I have a 2015 also with the BorgWarner BW 44-44 and used Valvoline Multi-Vehicle Transfer Case Fluid (TCF) and haven't had any issues. https://www.valvolineglobal.com/en/multi-vehicle-transfer-case-fluid/
Maybe someone can help me. I have a 2017 model year (manufactured in 2016) with a bw 44-44 and I was under the impression something with the fluid changed in 2016?
The dealer sold me pre-2016 labeled fluid with the part #68089195AA and was adamant that it is the correct one they use in all the vehicles.
Someone in here posted a photo of a 2016+ bottle with the part # 68049954AC.
Did the dealer screw me over on this? Pics of the two bottles for reference.
