    Oil dipstick issues

So I installed ARH long tubes last week, install was smooth except for the dipstick. I chopped of the lower mounting bracket with a dremel tool, and forced out a couple of hernias trying to pull the dipstick out of its hole. Once it came time to reinstall it, I had no issues bending it and...

    Problems after lift

Exactly. I know how everything went together, what it’s all torqued to, and why I had pieces leftover. When some components needed to be chopped, it was me doing the chopping. Plus it’s a pain to try and find an off-road shop near me, it seems like they’re all jeep guys and not sure as I’d ever...

    Problems after lift

Alright so just an update for all the guys saying “why would you ruin a perfectly good truck with a lift?”. I finally got a second to go turn some wrenches yesterday. Turns out it was the passenger side wheel bearing. It really threw me off because it started making noise the second I installed...

    Problems after lift

I've been caught up at work and haven't had a second to do some troubleshooting, but I have some time set aside this weekend and I will update you guys then.

    Problems after lift

6 inches, probably closer to 7 with the bilsteins set at 2.1 and a 5” rear spring. My wife told me they’re the biggest she’s ever seen, she might be lying though.

    Problems after lift

If you look closely on this pic you can see that the cv axle appears not to be pressed all the way into the intermediate shaft. It felt good when I installed it as it popped past the ring and seated. I’m concerned because the other side is nearly flush, just wondering if anyone had a similar...

    Problems after lift

Yes they’re defenders. I’ve heard great things about them, figured they’re half the weight of my mud tires and make sense for the daily commute.

    Problems after lift

Man he was huge. Without the lift he would've definitely taken with him the air dam. Thanks for your help here, a lot of good info and I really do appreciate it. At least this might give me an excuse to get some powder coated calipers. I would've gone for the bora's but their website said they...

    Problems after lift

Noise is constant, start to hear it at 10 MPH, loudest at 35-40 MPH. Turns/ braking have no noticeable effect. I'll get some pics up tonight.

    Problems after lift

That's possible. However, noise is always present, not only during braking. I've considered that it might be a stuck caliper but the pins slide freely and the truck doesn't pull to the side. Brake fluid should probably be checked, and it might be the rotors. Now that I think about it, on my...

    Problems after lift

I did all of the work myself, so I am to blame on this one. Wife already said I told you so. I'm hoping that this picture is the preload spacer you speak of, because I did leave those out due to the bilsteins.

    Problems after lift

This is why I started this thread, because that is really good insight. I am going to try just removing the spacers and seeing if it has any effect, if I need to trim the studs I have no problem doing so. Just pads. Rotors had no visible wear and no noise/problems just before the lift. I've...

    Problems after lift

Last week I finally installed a 6" zone lift, and I am having a loud "wubba wubba" coming from the front driver's side. With the lift I replaced the UCA's, LCA's, CV axles, 5100 Bilsteins at 2.1, and I also threw on new brake pads. I put Michelin 35's on the factory wheels with 1.5 inch...

Lift on the way, what else should I add?

I bought a Zone 6” lift for my 2013, wondering what other sorts of preventative maintenance I should knock out while I have everything pulled apart. I will be adding bilsteins set at 2.1 as well as some mevotech ttx UCAs. The truck is at 65,000 miles and we get a lot of rust here. I am...
