100% incorrect. The pump is not a weakness, they are rock solid and rarely fail. Lift pump or injection pump, doesn’t matter. Same thing. Rock solid. Bit my injection pump and lift pump handle 200% injectors just fine and have for 7 years.
There is no HO or SO per se for 2006, one engine...
Love my aftermarket power steps. Both my trucks have them. The only downside is no rocker protection, that’s it. Everything else about them is head and shoulders above.
Save your money. People swear up and down about additives, but here’s the deal: it’s not needed. Ever. It’s complete snake oil. Keep your money in your own pocket.
If you want more payload, get a bigger truck. Although asking said question you don’t exactly understand payload and such. Which is fine.
Look at the numbers for mega and crew and 2500 and 3500 and figure out what you need.
My ‘03 and ‘07 when newer started unplugged in -35 without hesitation. Only after they got miles on them, injectors tend to wear and such and they don’t fire up as crisp, but mainly I got over age 30 and decided I liked it warmer a bit earlier haha and started plugging in.

My ‘03 is still on 100% stock components up front. It’s never been touched in 180k.
My ‘07 is sitting on a complete Carli Backcountry with the old Bilsteins (now ships with Fox shocks), full replacement rear leaf pack, and their longer control arms. I swapped the arms for tire clearance.
