    No, unfortunately I bought it used. Had no tick at all when I bought it. Then the exhaust started leaking pretty bad on both sides. I fixed that, and then it got a lifter tick about 3 days later. It only took about a week for it start missing after the tick started

    UPDATE: I put replaced the cam/crank position sensors with OEM ones and that seems to have cured the P0344/limp mode issue. Replaced all of the spark plugs with the NGK ones that are the OEM recomended plugs and did a compression test on 1,3,5,7 while changing them. 1: 145 3: 125 5: 135 7: 130...

    Make sure you check the VVT solenoid once you get the intake off. I think dodge calls it the "oil control valve," but it's the same thing. If THAT shows any contamination from wear metals, then you probably need to go with a whole new motor

    Sounds like your VVT controller might be stuck. Timing is good in 1 particular RPM range, and unable to adjust. I'm not super familiar with these motors, but it might be worth a try

    Yeah, I'm afraid that it might be... I also saw that the control valve for the vvt can trip a P0344 code, but I don't know how to isolate that component for testing.

    Update: I got a misfire on the way home during medium accelleration, and it stayed with #3..... So either the plugs are toast, or it's a trashed cam A buddy at work is bring his compression tester tomorrow for me to borrow <-Hey! That rhymes!
