What's the best supercharger for 5.7L

Tune Thanks for the information! Getting a "good" tune file for the supercharger along with good street drivability for my year and model Ram is my biggest concern. A preloaded tune file on a SCT handheld tuner included with the kit would be sweet. Now I'm really getting anxious!

What's the best supercharger for 5.7L

Tune Does anyone know if the Diablosport Trinity that comes with the Magnuson kit already loaded with a tune to load in to the trucks pcm for the supercharger? Or is there more to it than that? In other words is it set up to load, install the supercharger, and go!

What's the best supercharger for 5.7L

Very Interested!!!! I'm very seriously considering the TVS2300 kit for my 2014 R/T. On the Magnacharger web site there are no installation instructions for the 2014 just the 2010 under the technical tab. Are updates in the works for the 2014? Thanks for posting the coupon code. It is still valid!

    Synthetic Oil

Hey Hemi! Don't drive yourself nuts lol! RL 5/30 is working for me and I'm not changing. Oh I will try the PUP 5/30 I have, but why not it was free with free uoa's. But I'll bet the RL will remain the best oil in the long run for this previously noisy engine. The results of the uoa's plus the...

    Synthetic Oil

SYN - From talking to the guys in the shop if the engine has no other issues than a heavy weight oil like 10/40 in a 5.7 it could most likely set a code before the engine is at operating temp and mds is trying to engage. Like driving to work first thing in the morning and mds is trying to engage...

    Synthetic Oil

Yes. That was the only time I ever saw that code was with other P codes for an mds malfunction. The techs would change the oil and clear the codes first. Then after a road test continue diagnosis if the codes came back which the always did after 3 what the techs called "trips". I never saw a...

    Synthetic Oil

The code is P1521. At least is used to be back when I worked at the dealership. Never saw a Hemi engine with that particular stand alone fault code. The 5w/30 RL is still purring along in mine with NO fault code! The 5w/30 PUP from Gina will be going in this spring. My only concern will be the...

    Carven Progressive Exhaust Drivability

I noticed a little low end power loss at first with the Competitor series Carven. Maybe it was my imagination, but after a few hundred miles of driving like I stole it the performance seemed better than ever. Perhaps the pcm needed some time to relearn and reset some of the adaptives in the pcm?

    Carven Exhaust Install.

Nice job RLK! l Love the sound of the Carven exhaust on mine too!!!

    Synthetic Oil

Add Oil So far haven't needed to top off the oil in this truck. My 2004 needed about a quart every 5000, but that was after I modified the engine ( high lift cam, cnc machined heads, etc. ) along with the transmission and driveline.

Better Late Than Never Wow I can't believe it, but just got a pm from Gina at Pennzoil and I'm in!!! I just knew I was going to be to late as I've been unable to get on the net for over a week now. I'll be anxious to see if my Hemi likes 5/30 PUP. And we'll have more uoa's in this great thread!!

    Synthetic Oil

BITOG Link I posted this link a few months back from BITOG addressing ester based oils and wear metal numbers on uoa's. Explains a lot. https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/2906981/1

Spin On Trans Filter It has to have one or the trans will just pump fluid in to the pan and the truck will not move in any gear selection with the shifter.

    Can't decide which Carven muffler?

It does drone with MDS but I usually just shut it off by putting the trans in #8 anyway. I didn't like the sound of the engine running in MDS mode before changing the exhaust. Have not lost any mileage that I've noticed, but I'm not concerned with fuel economy driving a V8 truck.

I put the RX-A kit on mine, the loud one, and I love it!

    Plugs

It's a 2010 Compass Limited 4x4 and it uses standard copper plugs. They're due at either 30 or 32k I don't remember for sure without looking it up. The NGK plug I mentioned is the plug it came with. I put a smidge of anti-seize on them but was careful not to over torque them which is easy to do...

    Plugs

I'm getting ready to install a new set of spark plugs in the Jeep the Mrs. drives. Using NGK zfr5f-11 in the 2.4l. Is it still a good idea to put a tiny bit of anti-seize on the threads? Just wondering because the new spark plugs threads look almost like chrome. Maybe some type of factory...

Wix vs OEM air filter observations

Lucky I was lucky to find one of these at my local Walmart. Looks like a quality air filter to me.

I must confess I shake oil containers and I fill the oil filter before installing it.

Left front caliper hanging after 4 sets of calipers....

First thing I would replace is the brake hose to that new caliper. Or has that already been done?

    Synthetic Oil

On the highway at 70 mph MDS is ok. At slower in town speeds it sucks and I hate the way the engine sounds. First thing I always do is put the trans in "8" when I drive the truck. If I was concerned about economy, and I'm not, then my selection of a Hemi v8 was stupid on my part! The Red Line...
