I'm getting ready to install a new set of spark plugs in the Jeep the Mrs. drives. Using NGK zfr5f-11 in the 2.4l. Is it still a good idea to put a tiny bit of anti-seize on the threads? Just wondering because the new spark plugs threads look almost like chrome. Maybe some type of factory coating to prevent seizing in an aluminum head?

I've done plenty of spark plugs on newer Mopar engines with aluminum heads & haven't had one strip out yet. However, I do play it safe & apply a little anti seize to the first few threads.

What Jeep? My wife has a 2.4 in her Patriot, I haven't changed the plugs in hers yet, it's at about 40,000.

I didn't change her Caravan until 160,000. It was still running great, but it was due.....

i always use some...don't wanna have a "ford moment" and they end up welded to the head!

It's a 2010 Compass Limited 4x4 and it uses standard copper plugs. They're due at either 30 or 32k I don't remember for sure without looking it up. The NGK plug I mentioned is the plug it came with. I put a smidge of anti-seize on them but was careful not to over torque them which is easy to do with lubed threads. The gap is .043.
Easy to do in about 30 minutes taking your time.
