    Windshield Cowl Replacement

So the plastic cowl that lines up with the bottom of my windshield is falling apart. I found the OEM part number, 55112305AD, but it's very expensive to replace. I'm getting around $320 just for that part. Anyone know of any aftermarket alternatives or do I have to go OEM? A quick internet...

Just bought a 9 Drive throttle controller, WOW!

Installed mine today. I like it so far, no issues. I set it to 2.3, completely eliminates the stupid lag from stock.

Just bought a 9 Drive throttle controller, WOW!

Just ordered mine. Will update once installed. I'm excited to get rid of some of this throttle lag.

    What does this mean?

The gas cap light appears to be common with our trucks, I've had it happen to me twice (2015 w/ 78k mi). There's a fault somewhere within the emissions system. Some of us have had luck replacing some easy/cheap items like the actual gas cap, purge valve, or leak pump. Unfortunately diagnosing...

    Gas Cap Light - Fixed!

I have about 76k miles. I never top off while fueling up, I agree it's not really worth it. Once the pump clicks, I'm done!

2018 RAM 1500 shock replacement mileage?

I replaced my shocks at 60k miles with KYB Excels. My ride noticeably improved. It's easy to do with the Thuren tools. All four shocks were about $150. I replaced mine since I noticed my ride was choppy and a bit rough. The new shocks have fixed this.

    Gas Cap Light - Fixed!

So I've had the check gas cap light on for about a month now along with some emissions related engine codes. I checked all my hoses and lines and I didn't see any visual signs of a crack or hole in the system. I had previously had an evap leak engine code thrown about 30k miles ago, so this is...

AEM Dryflow vs OEM Filter Fuel Economy

Very cool! I have the same filter, didn't really noticed much in regards to fuel economy. By far the best benefit is that it's reusable. It also appears to do a good job filtering. I've done multiple oil analysis while using that filter and the oil doesn't show excessive signs of contamination.

    Oil Filter Thread

I have used the boss filter before, no issues. I change oil and filter around 5-7k miles. I still prefer Wix....I've done multiple UOAs with Wix filters across multiple vehicles and have not seen issues with them.

    Cyl 1 Engine Misfire

230k miles isn't a bad run at all. I wouldn't fix the issue with that many miles but go with a used engine if you're going to drop it in yourself. You could also put a rebuilt unit in there, but I haven't really heard much on those.

ZF8 - PPE Pan Install and D6 Changeout to Maxlife

I used 6 ton jacks without issue. I also parked on a slight decline with the front facing the declining slope (backed in), which helped.

    2018 8spd wet trans pan?

Looks like you're still within your warranty period. I would let them figure it out

8spd fluid change now have a noise

I followed these directions when I did my change. The trans ended up taking about 1/2 quart more fluid after running thru the gears.

Conventional or Synthetic? First oil change on new-to-me '14 w/ 70k

Have you seen the synthetic oil thread? It's currently sitting at over 4,200 pages of conversations regarding this. https://www.ramforum.com/threads/synthetic-oil.27664/

    Hemi oil leak

I have this same leak! I noticed it as well when I was changing my oil. It's not leaking enough to drip on the ground, so I'm not going to worry about it but it is something to keep an eye on

    Strange electrical issues (part 2)

I'm thinking this could be a battery issue. Like stated above, check the connections to the battery. Also, get the battery tested at your local auto parts store. They will put a load on it and tell you if it is within spec. A voltmeter alone can tell you some info, but not all you need to know...

ZF8 - PPE Pan Install and D6 Changeout to Maxlife

I used a Doorman replacement pan and ZF Lifegaurd 8 on mine. My shifts did not appear to change that much. I did an UOA on my factory trans fluid and it looked pretty decent for the mileage.

What DON'T you like about your RAM?

The build quality of my Ram is less than ideal. I've had lots of little things go wrong/break over the last four years of ownership. Luckily most of them are easy fixes and I can easily do them myself. - Drivers headlight housing had water buildup. Tried everything but ended up getting a new...

    Black oil after 5,000 miles

Agreed, the only real way to know what's going on with it is to get it analyzed. I use the same oil and intervals as you and mine darkens within a couple thousand miles. I have a few UOAs up in a separate thread and I have really good results with RGT and PUP

    Blackstone - used oil analysis

My Jeep also takes 5w30, which is great since I only need to buy one oil for both. Probably won't go back to 20 weight for that reason alone lol. Anyways, this oil works great and will keep going into my truck unless they change up the formula or stop making it.

    Blackstone - used oil analysis

Very happy with my latest report. I skipped one analysis on my last oil change, but used the same filter and oil. That's why you will see a 10k mile difference between the last two changes. As you can see, I go about 5-6k miles between changes and don't plan on changing that. It works out to...

    Whine when AC is on

This appears to be common. Mine also does this and has been doing this for years now. I've had it looked at a few times and it appears to be something to do with the compressor. I think the compressors are just noisy units. I have ice cold AC and use it year-round in FL.

HEMI Engine/Exhaust Noise - Video Content Inside

I'm not a mechanic, but that sounds a bit noisy but not noisy enough to be an issue. Just keep and eye on it. Perhaps do a oil analysis on your next oil change to see if you have any elevated wear metals.
