FINALLY figured out best way to get oil filter changed on 18 Cummins.

I changed my 18 Cummins RAM oil today and feel like I finally figured out how to do the oil filter and not have it take so long going forward. I wanted to share for all of you that haven't done yet or found a way to do easily. I do it through the wheel well and put a line on each side of the...

Black Oak Led out of Florida makes exceptional LED light bars. I have the double row 20” linked below for my Ram 2500 and it puts out 22000 lumens and is an IP69K rated light with a lifetime warranty. https://www.blackoakled.com/products/10-18-ram-2500-3500-20-double-row-bumper-mount-kit

That plastic plate that covers the clutch cable hole. OK to drill?

It is totally fine to drill through - I did and no issue. I couldn’t use a firewall grommet as have the aux switches and the electrical box makes it too hard to access the plate. The first pic is before I drilled through - hardest part was to get drill up high enough in vehicle to make the hole.

First time truck buyer, getting close to purchase

If ordering skip the bed liner and get Linex done after you pick up your truck - you can get the Linex Premium and it won’t fade. Two reasons not to order from factory: no anti fade and only get 3yr 36000 mile warranty. Pay about the same price and have sprayed locally and can get the premium...

    Spray in bed liner

Linex Premium is worth every penny and won’t fade. Nothing compares in my opinion and lifetime warranty. I have seen many beds with Rhino and it looks like cheap rubber to me.

    Clearance/cab lights yes or no?

Just say no. I see them as just multiple potential leak points in your roof. I have never understood the need for them and think they look hideous. My thoughts only - your truck and your choice.

    Leaky Brake Light Fixed

It won’t work on CHMSL - at least not on my 2018. I used silicone and sealed around the edges to avoid a future issue.

Griots Garage has awesome Microfiber products that are thick & safe but as with anything quality - $$$. I like Griots products in general.

New '18. What "needs" done immediately? Rust belt....

Congrats on the new truck! X act contour by Husky are the best mats on the market imho. I would seriously have a Linex bedliner sprayed as opposed to a roll in by the dealer - lifetime warranty and looks like factory.

    Did my own bedliner

You did a fantastic job - I have had three trucks done with Linex and none looked any better than the one you just did. You should start a Linex or other similiar franchise as you have the skill set. Congrats!

What did you pay for your 2018 Laramie 2500?

I got $12500 off of a 2018 Laramie 2500 Cummins that stickered for $65505 and was ordered from factory which is 19% off. Could I have gotten a better deal on an ordered truck? Maybe if I drug the process out for months, but in the end I was happy. Good luck and enjoy your truck when you get it.

New Bed liner - Slight bulge?

Linex has a lifetime warranty, won’t fade for years if ever if you get the Linex Premium and seals out air and prevents rust as a result. Your words simply aren’t based in reality. It is great you love your drop in, but Linex is a vastly superior product which lasts a lifetime and 100% prevents...

New Bed liner - Slight bulge?

Go to Linex and get one sprayed as the plastic drop ins will rub the bed paint off and cause rust. I recommend the Linex Premium as it has UV protection and will look new for years. It will be the best $500 you spend on your truck and you can see how good it looks. Just my 2 cents - good luck.

    Water Leak

I would bet it is the gasket for the third brake light. I would replace it or put RTV sealant on it at a minimum. I put RTV on mine and sealed outside of light with silicone, but mine is the CHMSL and has Led lights so shouldn’t have to replace bulbs like incandescent bulbs.

CHMSL on new truck double sealed today to avoid third brake light water leak.

My new truck only has 104 miles on it, but I wanted to get the third brake light sealed as many have had issues with water leaks. Mine is the CHMSL which has the LED lights and bed camera so the MD rubber seal that most use to repair their non LED/camera lights doesn't work as my gasket was a...
