I saw that one. Definitely expensive.
I went with the alpine ine-z928hd. I couldn't find anyone that had the perfect fit dash available so I made my own. I used a vinyl wrap but couldn't get it perfect on the corners. I'm going to redo it this spring.

looks nice.

what kind of vinyl did you use? look into a 4-way stretch with a heat gun it will go around those corners no issues. also use a good contact glue.

Impressive, but damn that's a lot of dough for a head unit! I like the fact it integrates with the Alpine DSP. I'm running the older H701 wonder if it would work with it? Suppose it doesn't matter, I'll stick with the $89 tablet concept lol. Out of my budget.

Its an extremely nice unit and you can use all factory things with it which is nice for someone who still wants to.

Anybody with the Premium Alpine system try this yet?

I think it would need a PAC harness to work with the Premium 8.4AN system, quite an investment but I'm considering it as I cannot get the factory 8.4AN system to my liking.

i dont think you can. the factory alpine the amp actually does all the balance/fading its not controlled in the HU like the non alpine. It would require a re-wire and bypass the amp.

there is another post on this forum about the alpine 9" with their fit kit. i posted a pic of if being done with a 8.4 factory screen but it screw with the climate control placement

The X009-RAM isn't compatible with the factory equipped 8.4" screen models. For all the other vehicles it does come with all the parts necessary for the installation including the idatalink module.

it CAN be done as i have see it. you just lose control over the placement of where the air comes out. you have to pick a location before you remove the 8.4 and be happy with it.

the one i have seen they also modified the factory bezel to get it to work

Can you clarify how it was done? I have the 8.4AN Premium Alpine system and I am looking to potentially use the X009-RAM.

However, I do NOT want to use the factory amp, that defeats the whole purpose. The crappy signal from the factory amp is my problem.

So what would I need to connect up the X009-RAM and bypass the factory amp, while still maintaining all controls other than the HVAC vents?

they just used the idatalink meastro (sp). since you would bypass the factory amp you would be "golden"

You, the Maestro box is amazing, put on laptop, download and select what fits your application on the truck. Then the analog on the screen like the dash display is simply amazing.

There is no Maestro iDatalink for a 2014 Ram with the 8.4AN system according to their web site.

Can anyone confirm that this can work, and what part number was used?

Thanks!

I think the Alpine X009 is awesome. I plan on getting one later in the year.

I have the Uconnect 5.0 system so t makes sense to upgrade.
I dont understand for the life of me why anyone with the 8.4 Uconnects would want to upgrade though?

With the conversion now to the 8.4 all figured out it makes it VERY hard to upgrading to anything but that. Especially if you can source everything for a good price and take your time.

A nice big screen with a lot of functionality does not equate to sound quality.

I have replaced all the factory speakers and added a DSP and aftermarket amps to my 8.4AN system. Countless hours spent tuning, including at a professional shop that the manufacturer of the DSP recommends.

Results...very disappointing due to the signal the factory HU/amp puts out.

Tried almost every combination of inputs in the summing, some frequencies are just too weak, too boosted or almost not even there.

I'm sure others are happy with the 8.4AN system, unfortunately I am not.
