    Do you need to keep front axle in to keep wheel bearing together?

    My wheel bearing fell apart the day after I took my front end apart, I had blown the front end and removed the guts including the axles. I re assembled the truck and the next day wheel bearing is gone, so I put a new bearing & hub assembly on and less than a km down the road same thing...

    wonderful front u-joints....

    Have to wonder if it is just me or how common it is to have to replace the front u-joint every one to two years? Fortunate enough to have purchased the lifetime warrantied u-joints but it is still a pain to have to change them that often. Just wondering if there could be another problem I am not...
