So I just bought a 2004 1500 last week. The owner installed a 6 inch RC lift last summer. When I test drove it I noticed the steering had a little play but nothing serious. Now that I have been driving it a few days it seems so much worse. I will need new tires soon but when I hit a bump it jerks left or right and the tires squeel. When I go around turns the tires squeel. It feels as though something may be loose in the front end. I hear a clicking noise when I accelerate from a stop or when I hit a bump. It also feels like it follows the road whenever the contour of the road changes. I've looked at everything in the front end and it all seems fine and tight. It has 35's.

Does it have bilstein shocks on it? They're adjustable abd if they're maxed out then with that high of a lift you won't have any down travel. The ride will be really rough. As far as ticking noise on acceleration check your exhaust for pin hole leaks as well as the exhaust manifolds too. If the tires are worn funny that could make it drive weird as well.

He has an 04 so it has torsion bar/shock suspension, not coil/strut like you have, so no adjustability.

OP. It could be an alignment problem or the tires causing it to wander as well.
