06 1500 Engine swap with 04 2500

Need a lot of body work on my 2006 1500Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. I found a 2004 2500Ram with a nice body that needs a new engine and tranny. Can I make the swap? 5.7 Hemi and transmission from my 2006 into the 2004 body.

One way I find out if parts are transferrable is to search for them on car-parts.com. If you put your truck data info in and search for doors, hood, fender, engine, etc. you will see if it lists both 1500 and 2500 parts as interchangeable. I am not 100% sure, but think they are but don't go in my say so, I haven't searched for Gen 3 parts for years so don't remember. You could search the Gen 3 section of this forum, I am pretty sure this question has been answered a few times. Try different search terms like swap, interchangeable, fit, etc. Good luck
