Any idea why my tranny has issues shifting? Only have 65000 miles on it and the transmission specialist in town and the dodge dealer have no idea what is up. The check engine light comes on with several tranny codes when read, but will clear the next time. Is there some kind of electrical issue here or mechanical problem?

What codes were cleared? Gonna need those to do some diagnosis on the problem.

If you are the original owner and had your 5 year inspection any problems will be covered by the lifetime drive train warranty.

Did you take it to the dealer? Did they read the codes? Have them give you a copy of the codes so you know what is going on and then have them fix it.

Codes that come and go would make me look for something electrical. Would be good to know the codes as it may give an idea where to look.

I was watching a youtube video, and the guy said his truck was shifting wierd. As in random up and down shifting by itself. And I'm his video there was this wire ( I completely for got what the wire is called or the name of the video) and the wore was touching the alternatore and it was creating an "electromagnetic" field disorder with the wire and he just moved it out of the way so it want touching the alternatore and he said I fixed it. In the video you could see where the wire housing had rubbed off. So maybe check that?

Mine went out at about 65000 miles. One day all of a sudden all I had was 4th and reverse. Luckily mine drive train warranty was still in effect and it was replaced by the dealer. Turns out the shift solenoid went bad and I killed it driving it 2 miles to the dealer. Only cost me $185 for a $2800 bill.
