Has anyone changed the plugs on a 2019 5.7L? I was wondering how difficult it is.

Absolute necessity. I tried doing the job without the swivel socket, no dice and you’ll just **** yourself off, maybe break some things too. Get swivel socket and don’t forget a gap tool, and be very careful with the igniter tips.

While you have the coils off to do the plugs,doesn't hurt to give them some love to,it'll keep them happy and healthy for along time.

Coil cleaning pics

Yea i know my picture taking abilities suck,lol Hopefully you guys can tell how i go about cleaning up the coils from the pic's. The first pic,is just a pic of everything disassembled.If your truck has the resistors under the spring in the coil towers,you'll want to remove them and clean them...

If you're really ambitious you could also give your injectors some loving to,and they'll also be happier.
There's a video in the first post,that shows the same basic technic i use for cleaning injectors.

Injector cleaning

Supposed to go cold and snow for the next 10 days,so i figured it was a good time to pull the injectors and give them a cleaning.Got them soaking in injector cleaner,where i'll probably leave them for a couple days before using some carb and choke cleaner to wash them out using my old homemade...

If you decide to do plugs and coil /injector cleaning,allow yourself a day.

Mine just hit 100k the plugs needed changed. It was in a transmission shop for filter and fluid swap (went back with an aluminum pan with a replaceable filter) and the mechanic was happy to change the plugs at a very reasonable price and the improvement was noticeable. Sometimes you find a great mechanic in unexpected settings.
