Hey guys looking for some advice on what plow to get for my 2013 1500 outdoorsman. I know they factory doesn't recommend one or plowing in general with the truck. I know it can be done and has been done. I've recently purchased a house with about an 800 foot gravel driveway that I apparently own and well now my truck is going to plow. Any advice on a plow set up would be great. Thanks

I had a snoway 26 series on my 2004 ram that I used for my driveway. It was a great setup, light enough to move around and wasn’t too much hanging on the front end. It also had some cool features like quick mounting and down pressure for back dragging. Probably not so necessary for your application since it’s a gravel driveway, but I really liked it while I had it! Did cause some of the front end parts to go a bit sooner than I would have liked, but I guess some of that is to be expected when plowing.

I recommend a E series JD tractor, Kubota or something similar with a rear box scraper. A truck and plow could destroy your gravel driveway and you will need something to pull it all back together anyway. Good luck.

Look into a light duty plow, they usually have plastic/composite blades (wear blade is metal). You don't have to worry about the transfer case as yours should be a BW44-45 part-time.

we had 30 inches of heavy snow during the last big storm in Sussex county nj. I don't see a 4th gen handling this to often without some front end damage. Might be better getting a used atv and plowing with that.

More advice from Sussex County, NJ.

A truck plow will F-Up your driveway quick. Both sides never seem to hit at the same time.
Something like this worked great until this snow storm a few yrs back. I had the "Screw it, I'm waiting until it stops snowing" dumb idea.
If you hit it before it gets 8 inches deep, it was a breeze. And, you can use it all year as one of my sons found out.

PS: We had 5,600 sq ft of driveway, very little of it level.[emoji38]
